Barcelona Rout Valencia 6-0 Despite Sparse Crowd in First Home Game

FC Barcelona demolished Valencia 6-0 in their opening LaLiga home fixture of the season, despite playing in front of just 6,000 spectators at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski all scored braces in a dominant performance for the Catalans. The goals came against a Valencia side which offered little resistance as Barcelona capitalised heavily, particularly after halftime.

Barcelona’s usual home — Camp Nou — is still under renovation and their temporary stadium, Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, was unavailable following a concert, prompting the club to play in the much smaller Johan Cruyff ground. LaLiga granted Barcelona an exemption from its standard rules, which require first-division stadiums to hold at least 15,000 spectators.

With the win, Barcelona moved into second place in the league standings, totaling 10 points from their games so far — two points behind leaders Real Madrid, who remain unbeaten with four wins in four matches.
