The attention of Anambra State Government has been drawn to the recent correspondence by ‘Meat Nigeria’ to members of the public, inviting them to a purported 3-day International Exhibition scheduled to hold on 14th -16th November, 2024 at Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, using a forged letter headed paper of the Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture without their consent.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Forster Ihejiofor, titled, ‘PUBLIC DISCLAIMER ON USAGE OF FORGED MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE HEADED PAPER BY MEAT NIGERIA 2024’, the blatant forgery of the Ministry of Agriculture headed paper by MEAT NIGERIA is illegal and designed to deceive gullible Nigerians, is totally condemned by the Ministry of Agriculture.
“It is never the practice that any reply to Ministry headed paper goes to any other person other than the Commissioner. Furthermore, it is also standard practice that no other name or entity is added to the Ministry name in the headed paper, rather it is the address of the receiver that differs.
“This is also to educate the general public on things to check out for when given any purported Government headed paper.
“The Undersigned, Dr. Henry Okpata, the National Coordinator of MEAT NIGERIA 2O24 is hereby directed to withdraw the circulating invitation letter from the public domain immediately or face the full wrath of law.”
Ndi Anambra are hereby advised to be vigilant to avoid being scammed.
