Veteran actor and film executive Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs, has died at the age of 84, his family announced on Wednesday.
His son, Olusoji Jacobs, confirmed the death in an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for his father’s life and requesting privacy.

Jacobs was one of Nigeria’s most prominent actors, with a career spanning theatre, television and film. He also worked as a film executive and played a significant role in the growth of the country’s modern film industry, known as Nollywood.
He was widely recognised for his commanding stage and screen performances in both Nigerian and international productions, securing a lasting place in the nation’s entertainment history.
