As Nigeria marks Democracy Day, the Old Aguata Union (OAU) Warriors have paid glowing tribute to Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, describing him as a symbol of visionary leadership, selfless service, and the enduring values of democracy.
In a statement issued to commemorate the occasion, the group noted that Democracy Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made in the struggle for democratic governance and an opportunity to reaffirm the principles of freedom, justice, equity, and the supremacy of the people’s mandate.
The OAU Warriors commended Dr. Onunkwo for his unwavering commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and inclusive leadership, noting that his numerous interventions and humanitarian initiatives have continued to inspire hope and confidence across Anambra South Senatorial District.
According to the group, democracy thrives when individuals with integrity, competence, and a genuine passion for public service are entrusted with leadership responsibilities. They stated that Dr. Onunkwo has consistently demonstrated these qualities through his support for the less privileged, strategic investments in human capital development, and dedication to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
Reaffirming their support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate, the group expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective representation and attract meaningful development to the district if elected to the Senate in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the OAU Warriors, the Convener, Hon. Engr. Ifeanyi Obidife, described Dr. Onunkwo as a democratic leader with a proven record of community service and an unwavering commitment to transformative representation.
“Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo possesses the experience, character, competence, and vision required to effectively represent the people of Anambra South in the Senate. His passion for public service and dedication to grassroots development distinguish him as the ideal candidate for the task ahead.”
Obidife further disclosed that the OAU Warriors remain fully committed to supporting Dr. Onunkwo’s aspiration and mobilising support across Anambra South to ensure a successful outing in the 2027 senatorial election.
“As stakeholders in the future of our district, we are determined to work tirelessly with our members and supporters across the zone to actualise Dr. Onunkwo’s victory and usher in a new era of effective, responsive, and people-oriented representation,” he added.
