Gov Adeleke dismisses claims of office-sharing pact with APC

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has rejected reports alleging an agreement to share legislative and local government positions with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election did not involve any deal to allocate political offices to the Osun APC.

“Reports of office sharing is mere fabrication and fake news,” the statement said.

Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to Tinubu’s re-election bid and clarified that ongoing negotiations to resolve the local government crisis aimed to protect the interests of both APC chairpersons and the elected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmen and councillors.

The governor assured that the local government crisis would be resolved before the end of the year. He also denied entering into any agreement to share seats in the Senate, House of Representatives or State House of Assembly with the Osun APC.

What unites the coalition partners, the statement added, is the presidential election.
