Ifeanyi Ubah Unveils More Security Gadgets To Secure Nnewi and Environs

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Red chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has
unveiled more security gadgets to better secure Nnewi and environs.

Some of the new gadgets are security surveillance cameras with street lights which will be mounted at 48 strategic places in Nnewi, uniform for the security operatives and barricade timbers which he called “osisi agaga” from Nnewi “.

Speaking, Ubah said the Monday sit-at-home exercise has been counter productive and maintained that Nnewi is now ready securitywise to stand up against anyone that will enforce the sit-at-home going forward.

He used the occasion to call on those inciting violence and economic sabotage in the South East to desist from the act stating that he is working with stakeholders in Nnewi metropolis to end the Monday Sit-at-home in the area starting from Monday, July 3.

Ubah commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his support and efforts in restoring law and order and assured to continue doing his best for his people until normalcy returns to the area.

He explained that plans have been perfected to create over 45 round abouts where the cameras will be mounted to assist the work of the security operatives and call on ndi Nnewi to rise to the occasion with the slogan “If you see something, say something and something will be done”

Senator Ubah said that his resolve to ensure security returns to Nnewi is unshaken and revealed that enough gadgets and operational vehicles has been provided and called for total dedication to duty on the part of the operatives.

He further said that they are partnering the state Vigilante group for effective delivery and called on the market leaders to ensure all the markets are opened on Mondays as they will carry out a moral boosting patrol and sensitization on Monday to restore confidence of the people.

Senator Ubah promised that the case of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be giving maximum attention by the 10th Senate as other efforts are ongoing to ensure his freedom but harped on the need for ndi Igbo to separate criminality from freedom fighting or agitation.

The President General of Nnewi, Dr Maduka Atuenyi in his remark said that Nnewi will resist any force that will discourage development and announced that Nnewi will lock any shop that fails to open on Mondays for six days both in the streets and markets

He noted that security is everyones business and called on other good spirited individuals to join the efforts to bring sanity to the metropolis.
