Iranian Drones Strike Kuwait Refinery for Second Day, Disrupting Eid

Kuwait’s largest oil refinery was hit by Iranian drones early Friday, igniting fires at several units and interrupting Eid al-Fitr celebrations in the Gulf state as the regional conflict entered its third week.

The Mina Al-Ahmadi facility, which processes around 730,000 barrels per day, was targeted for the second consecutive day. Kuwaiti authorities said emergency crews were working to contain the blaze, with no immediate reports of casualties.

The strikes form part of Iran’s intensified campaign against energy infrastructure across the Gulf in retaliation for ongoing US-Israeli operations that began after the February 28 assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Kuwait’s oil ministry confirmed the latest attack but gave no further details on damage or production impact. The refinery is one of three major facilities in the country and a key contributor to its export capacity.

The incident comes as global oil prices remain volatile above $100 per barrel, with shipping through the Strait of Hormuz severely disrupted.
