Mbappe opened the scoring with a fine finish in the 60th minute after having an early penalty saved, taking his tournament tally to eight goals. He then set up Ousmane Dembele for the second shortly afterwards.
France dominated the quarter-final encounter, advancing to face either Spain or Belgium. Concerns over Mbappe’s fitness emerged late, but reports suggested he may have simply been substituted as a precaution.
The victory extends France’s strong run in the competition, while Morocco’s campaign ends at the same stage as four years ago in Qatar.
