Ned Nwoko Accuses APC of Betrayal Over Broken Automatic Ticket Promise

Senator Ned Nwoko has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of betraying him by failing to honour promises of an automatic ticket made before he joined the party.

The Delta North senator, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed deep disappointment over broken assurances during a media interaction on Sunday.

“I certainly was told before I came into the party that there would be automatic ticket for me, and why would I just leave like that without making sure that I have a secure ride?” Nwoko said.

He revealed that several other promises were also not fulfilled. “I, myself, and others were promised that there would be discussions on the new structure of the party, and we believed that there would be some… power sharing formula. We were told, for example, that the state executive would be dissolved and there would be nominations to enable the old APC to get a foothold into the government, but that was never done,” he added.

Nwoko insisted he performed strongly in the primaries despite the lack of automatic ticket. “We won in 98 wards. All that Ifeanyi Okowa did was just to throw evidence of one ward where there was an issue,” he claimed.

The senator’s outburst highlights growing internal tensions within the APC in Delta State as politicians jostle for positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
