The Independent National Electoral Commission says it plans to use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal for the upcoming 2023 general elections and other future polls.
INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu said this on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of a two-day Master Trainers on Technologies training for the 2023 polls in Abuja.

“The BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) and IReV (INEC Result Viewing Portal) have come to stay as a means of voter accreditation and transmission of election results, the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has declared,” the electoral body said in a tweet on Tuesday.
In July, the electoral commission said it would deploy over 200,000 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
The National Commissioner in charge of Abia, Anambra and Benue, Festus Okoye, said technical officers would be on standby at every RAC to attend to any technical issues that could arise during the polls.
