Olamide Crowns Wizkid After Fela; Urges Davido, Burna Fans to ‘Calm Down’

The rapper’s remarks came as social media continued to buzz over his earlier declaration naming Wizkid the greatest Afrobeats artist after the legendary Fela Kuti.

Nigerian rap star Olamide has urged fans of Afrobeats heavyweights Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy to “allow everyone breathe,” as online rivalry between the three fan bases deepened on Monday.

In a post shared on X, the YBNL boss dismissed the heated comparisons as unnecessary noise, stressing that no artist’s success diminishes another’s.

“Honestly, this whole lengthy 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever,” he wrote. “You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else… there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.”

Olamide added that the top stars are far from petty about differing opinions.

“One thing to remember is that Burna, David and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today,” he said.

The rapper’s remarks came as social media continued to buzz over his earlier declaration naming Wizkid the greatest Afrobeats artist after the legendary Fela Kuti.

Speaking at a recent press conference in Canada, Olamide said:

“I am blessed to have collaborated with Wizkid on multiple occasions. You know Wizkid is the greatest Afrobeats artist ever after Fela.”

He emphasized that his bond with Wizkid goes beyond strategy.

“My collaboration with Wizkid wasn’t about leverage. It has always been about our musical harmony,” he explained.

His comments have reignited long-standing debates among supporters of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats stars. Burna Boy had recently declared himself “the greatest African artist after Fela,” while Davido has often described himself as the “King of Afrobeats.”
