The Umuchu born multimillionaire and Founder, Mighty Mighty Education Foundation, High Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti has charged the beneficiaries of his education grants to work hard in their academic pursuit so as to occupy vantage positions that can help them contribute to the good of the society in future.
High Chief Otti, popularly known as Mighty Mighty, Ikenga n’Umuchu in his address to Umuchu scholars during the 3rd edition of the Mighty Mighty Education Grant held at Community School, Achalla Umuchu noted that he did the opportunity of any financial grant while growing up, pointing out that his aim of providing the education grants for learners in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary schools in Umuchu was to help them to become useful to themselves, their families, Umuchu, Aguata, Anambra, and Nigeria at large, so as to also help others in future.
“I will be very happy to see you in the next twenty to thirty years coming and you will gladly say that you were motivated and inspired by my words to you today”, Chief Otti opined, charging the learners to remember their roots and take care of their parents in their old age.
Earlier in his opening remark, the Director General of Mighty Mighty Education Foundation, Chief Chimezie Ikeh observed that Chief Ikechukwu Otti loves education and believes that the first empowerment for every child is quality education, and advised Umuchu learners benefitting from Mighty Mighty Education Grant to remain focused in their academics in order to achieve their positive dreams.
Also speaking, the President General of Umuchu Community, Hon. Ifeanyi Emegwa described the event as a true testament of philanthropy, adding that High Chief Otti has shown uncommon charity to Ndi Umuchu in various sectors, including education, healthcare, security and community development. While congratulating the winners, Hon Emegwa noted that their hard work has earned them excellent rewards and reminded them to understand that there is dignity in labour.
Presenting cheques to the winners in the various categories from tertiary level: 1st prize of N2Million went to Master Nnamdi Jondab Okafor, a 200Level Pharmacy student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; 2nd Prize of N1Million was clinched by Miss Chidiebube Onyebueke, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka; while the 3rd Prize of N500,000 was won by Master Emmanuel Iheadibe, also from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
In the Secondary School category, Ugochukwu Jah-Amaka, a JSS II student of Government Technical College, Umuchu came 1st with a prize money of N1Million; Ifechukwu Okonkwo in JSS I, also from GTC, Umuchu won 2nd position of N800,000 Prize; while Chinwendu Ibedu of Holy Name Secondary School, Umuchu got the 3rd position prize of N500,000.
Meanwhile, in the Primary Schools category, 1st position of N800,000 went to a Primary 1 pupil of Central School Umuchu, Miss Onyinye Onuegbu; 2nd position of N600,000 went to Precious Uba; and the 3rd position prize of N400,000 was won by Albert Eziamara Blessing from Primary School, Umuchu.
In their separate comments, the Secretary, Mighty Mighty Education Foundation, Comrade Lotanna Ejezie, the Principal, GTC, Umuchu, Mr. Emmanuel Okpalanwa; the Chairman, Okpu na Achalla quarters, Ogbuefi Paulinus Nnamdi commended Mighty Mighty n’Umuchu for his kind gesture, urging him not to relent.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Master Nnamdi Okafor and Jah-Amaka Ugochukwu thanked High Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti for his magnanimity and prayed God to bless him with long life in good health.
Highlights were the presentation of prizes to the winners, compensations of N100,000 to 20 tertiary students; N50,000 to 150 secondary students; and N40,000 to 150 primary Schools pupils. Dancing competition by the learners added colour to the event, as prize money was dished to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners by Chief Chimezie Ikeh.
