Russia Dismisses Reports of Troop Deployment to Iran as “Lies”

Russia has rejected as false any suggestion that it is sending troops or military equipment to Iran amid the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.

The Kremlin described the claims circulating in Western media as “lies” and said Moscow had no intention of direct military involvement in the Middle East theatre.

A senior Russian official told journalist that reports of troop movements were fabricated and aimed at escalating tensions.

Russia has repeatedly stated it is not providing combat forces to Tehran, though it maintains close diplomatic and economic ties with Iran.

The denial comes as Iranian forces continue retaliatory strikes on US and allied targets in the Gulf, including attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Moscow has condemned the US-Israeli campaign that began after the February 28 assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but has stopped short of offering direct military support.
