Former Senator Shehu Sani has asserted that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for Atiku Abubakar to step down from the 2027 presidential race.
In a social media post, Sani stated: “It is easier for a camel to pass through the needles’ eye than for Atiku to step down.” He added that calling for Atiku to withdraw is overambitious and politically unrealistic in Nigeria’s electoral landscape.
Sani’s remarks respond to pressure within parts of the opposition urging Atiku to make way for younger candidates or unity tickets. The post highlights the resistance some political heavyweights face against yielding power ambitions.
