The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday at its headquarters in Awka, presented the Certificate of Return to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who were re-elected.

during the ceremony, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Anambra State, Dr. Elizabeth Agwu congratulated the governor-elect and his deputy, emphasizing the need for them to deliver on their campaign promises and work towards the development of the state, reiterating the importance of upholding the democratic process and maintaining the trust of the electorate.
In his speech, the National Commissioner in charge of Anambra State, Kenneth Ukeagu, noted that the day marked the formal completion of the electoral process that began two months ago, highlighting the transparency that characterized the election.
Ukeagu emphasized that the successful conduct of the polls is a testament to the nation’s steady progress and affirmed INEC’s commitment to further deepening transparency in future electoral processes, while commending the security agencies for their vigilance and acknowledged the maturity demonstrated by political parties throughout the election.
He emphasized that the certificate presented is a symbol of renewed trust from the people of Anambra, calling for the promotion of inclusive governance and urged all candidates to join hands with the newly elected leaders to build a stronger and more united Anambra State.
In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the people of Anambra for their support and confidence in his leadership, acknowledged the collective effort that contributed to the victory and emphasized that the journey of transforming Anambra State now begins in earnest.
Governor Soludo highlighted his administration’s priorities, which include economic growth, infrastructural development, security, and educational reform.
