The former Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Uche Okafor Ph.D says the administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the past three years has redefined governance in the 21st century of Nigeria’s fourth republican democracy.
Rt. Hon. Okafor, a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in his congratulatory message, stated that
Governor Soludo’s midas touch has caught numerous sectors
“At the 7th Assembly of Anambra State, we approved the request of Governor Soludo to borrow the sum of one hundred billion naira (100,000,000,000) to fast-track his uncommon developmental strides. A request I and my respected colleagues of the Assembly gave legislative backing for such a near-zero interest loan rate to be borrowed.
“We, at the state assembly, as well as Ndị Anambra, anticipated the news of the governor accessing the loan, but our expectations were in vain. Governor Soludo wowed us by leaving the approved loan unaccessed. And embarked on the employment of over eight thousand teachers for secondary and primary schools in the state.
“While the speculation as to whether he had accessed the loan lasted, he embarked on yet another capital-intensive empowerment of Anambra youths under the One Youth, Two Skills Initiative. What a disruptive solution, Nwa Mgbafor has introduced!!!
“The largest urban slum, Okpoko, was met with its share of the Solution’s magic wand, which has promoted the slum into an urban environment with functional electricity supply, good water well reticulated across the area, tens of kilometres of roads with state-of-the-art drainage systems, and solar-powered street lights, as well as an ultramodern general hospital in the area. All these have been completed.
“Governor Soludo’s midas touch has caught numerous sectors, including the employment and deployment of medical doctors, nurses, and other health workers across general hospitals, PHCs, and regional health centres. These employees receive their salary as and when due with incentives to boost their productivity.
“The governor, Soludo’s administration, is currently building simultaneously a brand new government house, a governor’s lodge, and a solution fun city, all in Awka, and they will be commissioned in a matter of days from now. It has rehabilitated the state house of assembly complex and built the three-arm zones four-lane road.
“With connecting roads within all nooks and crannies of the state receiving swift construction and reconstruction, respectively. A few of which include the Isu-Aniocha – Urum – Achalla road, Amansea – Ebenebe – Awba-ofemmili roads that promise to connect the Ayamelum local government area with the Awka Capital Territory, the Regina Ceali by old INEC road, Abakiliki Street, and the Obi-Okoli dual carriageway that spans from Unizik junction – Y-junction – Goodwill and down to Isu-Aniocha roundabout.
“The connecting route from Amansea to Orumba South Road has been completed, while the dualisation of the Ekwulobia Road from Amawbia is in top gear and would be completed soon. The Ekwulobia flyover also remains a monumental project with modern architectural design and facilities, including a state-of-the-art bus terminal. The bridge at Aroma that connects Ifite Link Road has been completed, while the contract to construct the connecting roads was awarded about two weeks ago.
“The relative peace and tranquillity currently enjoyed in Anambra State is testament to the fact that #Agunechemba has come because #Udogachi. What an impressive security approach that works!
“The above-highlighted achievements are a few of the achievements of the governor Soludo-led administration. And above all, he has borrowed NO dime.
“The winner of the Sun Governor of the Year, 2024, and the winner of Independent Governor of the Year, 2024, on Urban Renewal, Governor Soludo has redefined leadership in the Fourth Republic of Nigeria and imbued the APGA’s spirit of onye aghana nwanne ya.
“Come November 8, 2025, I urge the people of Anambra and stakeholders alike to continue giving Governor Soludo their maximum support by reelecting him for a second tenure in office.
