There is tension in Urum Community, Awka-North local government area, Anambra State, over the selling of over 1000 plots of land at Ochiokwa stable land Urum to a developer, Mr. Chukwuemeka Okechukwu Kingsley (Nwagu Ata Ahihia) for development of Heaven Estate without the knowledge of the community.
The community described the purported selling of the Ochiokwa land to a developer without the knowledge of the President General of the community or the leadership of the Town Union as an affront to the leadership and people of Urum community.
Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
the alleged developer, Mr. Chukwuemeka, who owns Nwagu Ata Afiafia Property and Homes allegedly coveted over 1,000 communal land at Ochiokwa boundary between Urum, Achalla and Amanuke allegedly without legal documents from the community town union.
Already, Youths in the midst of elders and leadership of the community led by President General of Urum community, Hon Sir. Felix Godwin Oranye besieged the Ochiokwa land in question to warn the developer known as Nwagu Ata Ahihia to desist forthwith from entering amd developing the Ochiokwa land.
He said the Ochiokwa land is a communal land with bloods of their ancestors shed in the course of communal war with neighbouring communities claiming ownership of the land before Urum reclaimed it, hence it’s not just any land but a sacred land nobody should toy with.
Urum Community warned, stating that in no condition should the Ministry of land , Anambra State government and its officers issue a Certificate of Occupancy, (C of O) or endorse any formal papers in respect of the said land to Nwagu Ata Ahihia or his cohorts.
The Urum Community PG, lamented that all efforts to ensure peace reigned in the past one year was futile, adding that the farm land by Urum women and economic trees on the land worth several millions were destroyed by Nwagu Ata Ahihia and cohorts in the illegal development.
He wondered why the developer should be claiming their land allegedly with endorsements of their traditional ruler and Onowu without showing the community leadership the certifications but orally claiming ownership of Ochiokwa land even as everyone in Urum denied being accomplice to the land deal. The question now is who sold the land to Nwagu Ata Ahihia?
He was worried that after the intervention of Igwe Nnewi where Nwagu Ata Ahihia couldn’t present any documents, he narrowly escaped being kidnapped after coming out from Igwe Orizu palace.
But, in another development, Mr.
Chukwuemeka Okechukwu Kingsley
aka Nwagu Ata Ahihia was seen in a video at the site in what appeared like mocking Urum community as wailers, calling on investors to come to Ochiokwa land and develop it as his mission was to bring in development and nothing else.
The developer insists he is bringing in development to Urum, assuring other developers to come to Urum and develop as it’s close to Awka and a few minutes drive from Regina Ceali junction Awka.
He called on the general public to ignore the noise from Urum as nothing would stop him from bringing in development to the land,” no matter the fight,” “no matter the conspiracy,” as they came to develop and not to cause trouble.
He was marketing the Ochiokwa land for development as his own residence would be ready by February next year, urging Ndigbo to come and invest in the Heaven Estate Awka .
Meanwhile, Urum Community has written a caveat emptor in the Vanguard Newspapers of February 12th, 2026 page 25 asking the general public to be aware of the fraudulent actions of Nwagu Ata Ahihia in their ancestral land at Ochiokwa.
