* Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR has signed the 2023 appropriation budget approximately N260 Billion naira. The brief ceremony was performed at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
Addressing the media, the Governor appreciated the State House of Assembly for the expeditious passage of the budget
* Anambra state house of assembly at plenary held a valedictory session in honour of the lawmaker who represented Njikoka South Central Constituency late Hon. Silvester Nwabu Alor. Anambra Speaker, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor while commiserating with the immediate family, described Late Hon. Silvester Nwabu Alor as a great politician and public servant who leaved a modest and fillfuled life full of positive political activities. He also distinguished himself in political affairs and was rooted in the culture of his people and believed that nothing is impossible with determination.
* The traditional ruler of Omor Kingdom in Ayamelum local government area, Anambra State, His Royal Highness, Igwe (Dr) Oranu Chris Chidume, MON, Eze Ana-Ukwu, Eze Igulube is set to mark his 2022 Ofala festival.
The festival will start on Thursday 15th December, 2022, with a press briefing tagged: ‘Omor in Focus,’ followed by the main event on Friday 16th December, 2022, at the Igwe Igulube Palace, Omor.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated a seventeen member Anambra State Oil and Gas Development Committee.
The Committee has, Barr Mrs Uju Ifejika as Chairman, Engineer Ikechukwu Okafor, Vice Chairman, Barrister Mrs Patricia Igwebike, Commissioner for Transport, member, Mr.
Paul Nwosu, Commissioner for Information, member, Mrs Nkechi Obi, Member, Professor Kingsley Nwozor member. Other members include, Dr Chris Ofokansi, Chief Tony Okwesa, Engr Jideofor Etele, Barrister Tony Ifeanya, Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engr Somtochukwu Okoye, Dr Boniface Emengini, Mr Emmanuel Nwabia, Mr Francis Nwabueze, Mr Jude Ezeamaechi as well as Engr Julius Chukwuemeka, Commissioner for Power and Water Resources.
* The Jury of Security and Emergency Management SAEMA has presented Award of excellence in communication during crisis to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu. The award was presented during Police Public Relations Officer Conference in kakanfo Inn & Conference Ibadan, Oyo State on Sunday December 12, 2022.
* VOC Foundation, a non – governmental organization, has given succour to widows at Abacha Community, Idemili North Local Government Area. The philanthropic gesture which was part of programmes to commemorate the one-year memorial service of the founder of the foundation, the late Sir Victor Oranu, took place at his country home at Abacha with over eighty widows from Saint Michael’s Catholic Parish, Abacha, in attendance.
* The Young Progrrssive Party (YPP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi has bagged an award of human resource Excellence, from the National Link Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). * Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, ASHIA, has commemorated the 2022 World Universal Health Coverage Day in Awka. The United Nations General Assembly endorsed a resolution which urged countries of the world to accelerate progress towards the attainment of universal health coverage. Universal Health Coverage is such a time when everyone, everywhere would have access to affordable quality healthcare.
