* Anambra State Government has assured that soon, it will take a position that will be in interest of members of Azia community in Ihiala Local Government Area. Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, announced this at Government House, Awka, after a meeting with stakeholders from the community which he presided over. Nwabunwanne, who recognized procedural errors in previous attempts to enthrone a new Igwe, however, urged Azia stakeholders to help achieve peace in the community, assuring that the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration is interested in returning power to the grassroots.
* The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU/UNIZIK), Awka, Prof Charles Esimone, has described the Registry Department as the hub of any university establishment; without which the system can not function. He made elaborate statements to that effect in his remarks at the maiden edition of UNIZIK

* St James Catholic Parish Neni, in collaboration with the Catholic Women’s Organization, has immortalized the Founder of Tonimas Group of Companies, Late Sir Anthony Enukeme, through the inauguration of the Anthonyo Enukeme Group of Schools in Neni. The event commenced with a Eucharistic Mass at St. James Parish Neni, presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, who was represented by the Education Secretary of the Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Maximus Okonkwo.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Neville Sunday Uchendu, has extolled the people of Ohukabia Village in Nawfija, Orumba South LGA, for what he described as their notable demonstration of “Akuruo Ulo Philosophy”, with which they have been contributing to the development of Nawfija community. Hon Uchendu, who gave the commendation, when he commissioned the Phase 1 of the multi-million naira Ohukabia Nawfija Daily Market, lauded the people of Ohukabia for the initiative, which, he said, was in line with the Akuruo Ulo vision of Gov Chukwuma Soludo.
* The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye has described journalists in Anambra as critical partners in their journey of sanitizing Anambra of crimes and criminalities. Adeoye stated this on Thursday during the April Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra state Council where they held an interactive session with the police commissioner ahead of his retirement next month. Addressing NUJ members, the Police Commissioner represented by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Akin Fakorede explained that he brought about improved human relations and the welfare in the police force thereby bringing back their confidence in the force.
* Popular public information announcer, ‘Aiza Nwosu’ was on Friday morning involved in an accident in Aroma Junction, Awka. A source who was around during the crash said Aiza’s vehicle hit some road users, including a tricycle rider, and that he (Aiza) and about three persons involved in the crash have been rushed to the hospital. Onlookers at the scene declined interview from journalists, but an ACTDA official who spoke simply said he cannot explain how the accident happened.
* The member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo has commissioned Idemili South constituency office and also held a town hall meeting at Ndiabor Union civic centre, Ojoto, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State. Commissioning the centre which is a liaison office for the constituents in the LGA, the lawmaker said that it will fasten aid to the constituents who needed help of any kind or complaints.
* The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi says Nurses are very critical as they are the ones who assist doctors in many ways and takes care of patients. Obi while speaking St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha on Thursday said their is need to train more health workers in other to be able to have enough manpower to handle the health sector. Obi also presented a cheque of ten million naira to St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital
