* The Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA, Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere has advised members of the public to adopt attitudinal change in their waste disposal. Anere said agency will commence implementation of “Operation keep Anambra State clean” from Tuesday, 8th August, 2023.

* The Head of Service of Anambra State, Barr. Theodora Okwy Igwegbe, has called for the advancement of forensic science in Nigeria.
The call was made recently during an International Conference on Forensic Science and Criminal Justice held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State.

* The Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone has welcome a delegation from the Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) led by Prof. Angela Nwammuo. The visit was to familiarize with the Vice Chancellor and thank him for finding Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, a devoted member of the NIPR, worthy of being appointed the Special Adviser to the Vice Chancellor on Public Relations and Special Duties.

* Anambra State, Shuttle Drivers have expressed disappointment over the harrassment from enforcement teams. The shuttle drivers who met at the Dr. Ekwueme square in Awka the state capital during the weekend said they are being punished for errors of government, which ought not to be so.

* Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has called on youths to embrace skill acquisition as a way of surviving the present economic realities in Nigeria. Ibezim made the call at Renaissance Modern Polytechnic Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, when he officially flagged off vocational skill training for Mbaukwu youths and school children organized by Onyekachukwu Gilbert and Chizoba Christina Ibezim Foundation, also known as Papa and Mama Helping Hands.

* As Anambra State women converge on their various communities for the 2023 August home and abroad meeting, the wife of the traditional ruler of Awka Community, Lady Nora Nwosu, has charged women of Awka Community, to use the meeting to pray for a lasting peace and unity.
Speaking in an interview on the importance of August Meeting to both the women folk and the society at large, Lady Nora, who described peace as key to sustainable development, urged the women, especially those of Awka extraction to use the August meeting in proffering solutions to societal vices especially among the youths.

* The Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has embarked on inspection tour of an ongoing community road project at Akabo village Mbaukwu, in Awka South LGA of Anambra State.
The Deputy Speaker who was conducted round by the Director General of his campaign, Hon. Innocent Obinna and some stakeholders of APGA in the community, said the road construction in the area will improve on connectivity within the community.

* Alor Community in Idemili South LGA of Anambra state led by HRM Igwe Mac Anthony Okonkwo has celebrates her new yam festival.
This is in line with the community’s tradition and culture and also in tandem with the Igbo long aged new yam festival celebration across Igboland from time immemorial.

* Anambra State Ministry of Health led by Dr Afam Obidike has commissioned newly built Comprehensive Health Centre at Enugu Otu Aguleri. The health facility which was built through community development efforts pioneered by Machi Pius Igwe led Enugu Otu Progressive Forum (EPF) was indeed a prayer answered to entire Aguleri-Otu communities.

* Prof. Kate Omenugha of the Department of Mass Communication Nnamdi Azikiwe University has declare interest to run for a Member of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). Omenugha while speaking in Awka assures that if elected as a Council Member of the NIPR, the State, South East, and Nigeria at large will see the difference in the way and manner that will stand out the Institute

* Ijeoma Blessing Onukwube from Anaku in Ayamelum LGA, Anambra State, is a living testimony to the life-changing impact of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s one youth, two skills scheme. Narrating her story, Onukwube said after graduating from higher institution in 2019, she was unemployed for a long time. She was so frustrated that she considered joining girls in doing hook-up business. But last year, a friend told her about the one youth, two skills scheme. Onukwube immediately enrolled in the scheme and learned how to become a fashion designer.

* The finals of the Anambra all stars competition will be played on 13th August at the Awka City Stadium as two teams from the commercial nerve center of Anambra state, Onitsha qualifies for finals. The two teams Noble All Stars and Onitsha All Stars sent home two tournament favorites, Peace FC All Stars and Anaedo Bigger Boys All Stars respectively.
