* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has asked Ndi Anambra at home and in the Diaspora to disregard the social media-heightened insecurity in the state, saying that Anambra remains the state with the lowest security challenge in Nigeria as shown by the data recently released by Security Check in Nigeria.

The Governor made the call in Awka during the APGA Apostles Forum Christmas Luncheon and Banquet for all members of her council of patrons and patronesses.

Soludo who was represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim restated the commitment of his administration towards ensuring the safety and well-being of people of the state and commended members of APGA Apostles Forum for their efforts towards a stronger APGA and ahead of the 2025 gubernatorial election.

The National Convener of the APGA Apostles Forum, Chief Nchekwube Dunga said that they decided to celebrate their patrons and patronesses for their enormous contributions to the progress and success of the group and APGA in general, restating the commitment of the forum towards ensuring the victory of all APGA candidates in every election in Anambra and across Nigeria.

* The 2024 Annual Thanksgiving Service of Our Saviour’s Church, Umuosuma Lane, Inland Town, Onitsha, witnessed the presence of prominent leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Onitsha North LGA officials.

The General Overseer of Our Savior’s Church, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN emphasised the significance of gratitude. He maintained that thanksgiving is not about material contributions but a heartfelt expression of appreciation to God for His blessings.

The Mayor of Onitsha North LGA, Nweze Tony Nwora highlighted the importance of being thankful for life and extolled Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his transformative leadership in Anambra State.

The event featured prominent APGA members such as the national chairman, Mr. Sly Okenwa represented by his Chief of Staff, Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Secretary to the state government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, among others. It served as a unifying platform for APGA members, with leaders and faithful coming together to express their collective gratitude.

* Anambra’s All Progressives Congress (APC) contender for the 2025 Governorship election, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has condemned the silence and inaction of the government of Anambra State, led by Professor Chukwuma Soludo, since the disappearance of Archbishop, Most Rev Godwin Okpala.

In a statement, Sir. Chukwuma described the disappearance of Archbishop Okpala, who is over 70 years old as “heinous and unforgivable,” as well as condemned the act as “barbaric and cowardly.”

According to the former National auditor of APC , this is an egregious assault on our collective humanity and an affront to the moral and religious fabric of Anambra State.

Sir Paul Chukwuma said that the government’s behaviour towards this anarchy is reprehensible.

* Anambra State Government has expressed deep grief on the tragic loss of lives in the stampede that occurred during a rice-sharing event in Okija town in Ihiala Local Government Area on Saturday.

in his expression of sympathy, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in a press release signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, extends his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, especially the women, the elderly, pregnant, nursing mothers and children who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident.

According to available information, the State Government acknowledged that the Obi Jackson Foundation, led by Chief Ernest Obiejesi, had organised the event with the noble intention of sharing relief materials with less privileged members of the community during this festive season.

* In a significant move aimed at revitalizing the education sector within the local government area, in conformity with Governor Chukuwma Soludo smart schools agenda, the Executive Chairman, Anambra West LGA, Mr. Fidelis Nnazor has held an interactive section with departmental heads of primary schools in the locality.

The section held at the LGA’s headquarters, Nzam, focused on addressing the challenges facing education in the local council and formulating actionable plans to enhance the quality of learning for students.

Speaking during the section, Mr. Nnazor emphasized the importance of education in the development of the society, noting that education and security remain top priority of his administration.

Represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Edith Ndive, he revealed that the reason for the section was to get first hand information from departmental heads of primary schools, various needs and challenges, so as to know where government can assist.

* The youths of Nimo Community in Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State has matched to Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU) National Secretariat, insisting that the
the President General (PG) of Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU) Engineer Dan Anikpe (Zelunjo) is still the man at the helms of affairs.

The youths who came out in there large number were chanting solidarity songs, expressing their displasure to the development.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Angel Network News (ANN), the NTDU Youth leader, Comrade Chidike Okwaji said Anikpe is still with the certificate of recognition as the duly elected PG of Nimo Community.

First National Vice PG of NTDU, Comrade Chigbo while speaking said the on-going development is really unfortunate. Hon. Anidobe called for calm, urging ndi Nimo to go ahead with their normal daily activities and that everything is in order.

* Depositors and customers of former Obosi Microfinance Bank (OMFB) which was wrongfully liquidated in May 2023 have been assured that they were free to come next week and withdraw a part or the whole of their money from Adike Microfinance Bank (AMFB) which acquired the assets and liabilities of OMFB.

Speaking to newsmen at Ugamuma village Obosi Community, Idemili North LGA during the 2024 Iwaji/New Yam festival of Akamposi Obosi, the Board Chairman of Credit Committee AMFB, Chief Hyman Udemba assured the mammoth crowd who came to felicitate with him at his hometown that the Bank will be open for customers on December 10, 2024 to access their funds so that they would not be stranded if they needed money for shopping cum preparations for the Christmas yuletide.

According to the MD/CEO Adike Microfinance Bank(AMFB), Mr. Emeka Anujeonye, ” AMFB is a new bank that took over the the assets and liabilities of former OMFB which was mistakenly liquidated by NDIC.

* The former Common Wealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III of Obosi) and others have called on parents and Guardians to give adequate attention to their children’s reading, writing and speaking culture saying that the advent of handsets, social media and home movies have become a major distraction militating against sound education of young minds.

Chief Emeka Anyaoku who spoke through the Director, Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation (EBAF), Mrs Oluchi Nguzoro Nnoli during a Free Christmas party for over 300 school children which held at the Foundation’s Library/Museum, Obosi, Idemili North LGA, Anambra State emphasized the importance of education as the basic foundation for a child who would become responsible and not a liability in the future.

Special Guest and Royal Father of the day, Igwe’ Chidubem Iweka advised parents to limit the time their children spend with phones.

Eze Iweka further advised the children to be of good behavior, make friends with good peers and brilliant school mates if they want to amount to anything meaningful in life.”

* The Anambra Security Network (ASN) has lauded Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for appointing Chief Kenneth Emeakai as Senior Special Adviser on Security for the communities in the State.

The group, in a statement after their quarterly meeting in Awka, the State capital, where they assessed the security situation in the State, said the coming of Emeakai into the security architecture of Anambra State would positively change the situation.

In the statement signed by its Chairman, Chief Ikemba Anunihu, the group said, “Emekayi as a specialist in community security has the will to fight crime with all vigour until the criminals are routed out wherever they are in the State.

They expressed confidence that he would do well in the job by employing men who would be committed to the job.

* The Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere has read the riot act for human traffickers operating in the state to relocate or face the full wrath of the law.

Reading the riot act in Otolo Nnewi after a joint taskforce of OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs burst a human trafficking enclave, Comrade Anere promised that the state government will continue to crack down on all sorts of criminality in the state.

Comrade Anere bemoaned the poor health condition of the children and wondered why a human being will be so heartless to subject innocent children to just harrowing experiences just for their selfish interests.

The joint task force had rescued 13 children aged between two and 12 from a suspected child trafficker, Angela Okechukwu, and her collaborators.
