* Anambra Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Pauly Onyeka has lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s plans to transform the education sector of the state for effective performance. The Commissioner gave the commendation when a team of officials from the ministries of Housing and Education as well as Anambra State Erosion Watershed and Climate Change Agency recently went on fact-finding mission to Basden Memorial Special Education Center lsulo, in Orumba South Local Government Area of the State. The Housing Commissioner represented by the Director for Building Construction and Maintenance, Bar Samuel Ojeleke, assured the principal of the school that Mr Governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo would respond quickly to  the erosion problem ravaging the school. “This is a special school and we cannot joke with it for whatever reason,” he said.

* The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba has visited Renaissance Modern Polytechnic, Mbaukwu, to express appreciation for their efforts in the Entrepreneurship Development Scheme during the first phase of the 1 Youth 2 Skills Solution program, as one of the certified Entrepreneurship Development Institutes that the Ministry partnered with, during the program.

Discussions revolved around strategies for enhancing past achievements and consolidating on vocational skill areas for collaboration in the upcoming second phase of the 1 Youth 2 Skills Solution program.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka, joined other stakeholders in the water sector at the 30th Regular Meeting of National Council on Water Resources and Sanitation. Among the various deliberations and outcomes of the meeting, the well-attended event also marked a significant progress in the Anambra State’s water sector, as Commissioner Chukwuemeka, through the state government, attracted solar motorised boreholes for tertiary institutions in the State.

* Anambra state government has said it would henceforth start testing palm wines being used at functions in the state to ensure they are truly palm-wine healthy for consumption. The State’s Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, disclosed this in Awka, the Anambra State capital during an interactive session with the youth wing of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU Youth). He condemned the rate at which people adulterated palm-wine and some other natural foods being served at occasions , noting that such things were part of the reasons people suffer different kinds of unusual and inexplicable diseases.

* Anambra State Housing Commissioner, Hon. Pauly Onyeka, has emphasized the importance of using the media to project the achievements of the present administration to the people. The commissioner made the call while receiving the team from CHOFFAN Communication Limited, owners of Blaze and Ijele FM Radio Stations on a courtesy visit at the State Secretariat Complex, Awka. Hon. Onyeka noted that the communication  gaint, covering about eight states has unique and wonderful contents and style of communication emanating from five different stations across the country, two of which are located in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area,  his constituency.

* Medical practitioners are currently battling to save the lives of four out the seven men of the Special Anambra Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) following the alleged massive acid attacks launched on them by some traders in the Ogbo Ogwu (pharmaceutical) market, Bridgehead in the Onitsha South Local Government Area of the state. The incident, which occured on the 16th day of February, 2024 remains unforgettable for the Anti-Touting Squad who were on its usual official assignment of riding the Niger Bridgehead area of Agboros (touts), extorting money from transport operators and buyers from the surrounding markets. The Anambra State Director of SASA, Mr. Solomon Chukwuebuka who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, PRO Anambra Vigilant Group, AVG, Mr. Nweke said lamented over the attack.
