* The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye attended the inauguration of APGA ward executives and the official induction ceremony of Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze’s political family into the All Progressives Grand Alliance at the ward level. Speaking during the inauguration, held at Ogbaru LGA Secretariat, Atani, Chief Obi-Okoye congratulated the newly-elected ward executives, urging them to always commit themselves and work harder to achieving more progress for the party. He also stressed the need for unity among them, stressing the need to always carry every member along to ensure victory for the party.

* A bill for a law to establish the health facilities monitoring accreditation agency 2024 and for connected purposes has been read for the second time at the Anambra State House of Assembly. The Majority leader Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme while leading the motion said, it is a life saving bill which will end the illegalities in the health sector when passed into law. Ofodeme who is the member representing Ekwusigo constituency listed the objective, functions and powers of the agency which will be to monitor and set standards for all health agencies in order to increase quality of health delivery and reduce risks of patients.

* The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has congratulated the CEO of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company Limited, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma as he bagged the Sun Man Of The Year 2024 from management of the Sun Newspapers.

In a message of felicitation, Obi-Okoye said Innoson, an illustrious son of the soil is an accomplished business mogul and entrepreneur, who has contributed greatly to the growth and development of the economy of Anambra State, Nigeria and Africa in general. Chief Obi-Okoye added that Dr. Chukwuma, through his automobile company has placed Anambra, Nigeria and Africa on the global automobile map, and has touched lives through his Innoson foundation, therefore deserving of the noble award.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi has urged residents in the council area to maintain proper ventilation in their homes following a heat wave that is being experienced across the nation. Hon Obi who gave the admonition at the council Headquarters over the weekend noted that measures such as adequate ventilation, avoiding of over crowding and staying hydrated will go a long way to help overcome the harsh effects of heat wave such as Chickenpox disease, Measles, fainting and heat rash. 

* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, says she is keeping close tabs on the case of a woman who abused her eleven-year-old maid in Onitsha. Mrs Soludo, who was speaking in Awka in reaction to the arrest of the suspect, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor, assured that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that full justice is served. While promising to ensure that the case is used as a deterrent to those who have no regard for human dignity and rights, the governor’s wife maintained that anyone who violates the rights of another will be made to face the law. 

* The traditional ruler of Mkpunando-Otu Aguleri, Igwe Johnson Mbanefo has inspected on-going

construction of a world class General Hospital that will serve the three communities of Aguleri-Otu:  Eziagulu-Otu, Enugwu-Otu and Mkpunando-Otu. When completed, the hospital will be first secondary health facility to be located in the communities that live across the Omambala River. 

* Anambra State Joint Security Force has bursted an insurgents’ Camp in Achalla, Headquarters of Awka North LGA of Anambra State. The operation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye took the insurgents by surprise as they fled with gunshot wounds leaving trails of blood. Angel Network News reports that the hoodlums had disrupted trading at Achalla Market the previous Monday ordering traderd to sit at home.

* Anambra Assembly has invited the Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, leadership of Anti-touting Onitsha zone, Special Adviser to the Governor on market, Chairman Ogbogwu market Onitsha, Chairman Bridge Head Onitsha and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security for a crucial meeting with the house committee on Homeland and Boundary Matters on Thursday 22 February 2024 at 10:am for clarification. The member representing Ihiala two constituency Hon. Golden Iloh at plenary, through a matter of urgent public importance, brought to the notice of the house the killing of Mr. Arinze Obinadike, a graduate of Political Science at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, who hails from Okija and resides in Ogbaru and learning trade in Ogbogkwu in Onitsha
