* The senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh has flagged off the construction of 2km Alexander Onwumelu Okoye Road at Umudioka Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The project is among the promises Senator Umeh made to the people of Anambra Central during his inauguration in June 2023.
The 2km road project, which will be completed in sections, comes amid the ongoing construction of over 50 constituency projects across Anambra Central Senatorial District.
* In a pivotal gathering aimed at fortifying the campaign strategies of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the APGA Solidarity Movement (ASM) convened with the National Chairman, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa.
This strategic meeting centered on the programs and processes required for the upcoming campaign and the essential consolidation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s groundbreaking developmental initiatives moving simultaneously across all the sectors of the state economy.

* The Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA) Barr. Chinedu Ononiba has supervised ongoing rehabilitation of Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu Road.
Hon. Ononiba while speaking during the inspection said the road when completed
will create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, create jobs and that communities will flourish.
The Mayor reaffirmed his commitment in addressing the infrastructural needs of ndi Njikoka and that he is making steps in
transforming the local government area into a liveable and prosperous area and improving road network.

Sir. Paul Chukuwma has strongly condemned the recent murder of an EFCC officer, Aminu Sahabi Salisu, by a suspected Internet fraudster identified as Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Salisu went down in a hail of bullets on January 17, 2025, during a raid on Dr. J. O Ukwutinife Close, Ifite Awka by some EFCC officials to flush out suspected Internet fraudsters from the state.
Decrying the incident in a press release signed by Mr. James Eze, Spokesman, Sir Paul Chukwuma Campaign Council, the governorship candidate observed that the death of an officer on active duty was always a bitter pill for Nigeria to swallow and a cruel blow to the country’s efforts to build a safe, free and prosperous society.
According to Chukwuma, officer Salisu’s death should awaken Nigerians to the debt they owe their law enforcement officers who risk life and limb so that their fellow citizens may live free in their own country.
* National Convener, Recover Nigeria Project (RNP) Comrade Osita Obi says Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo deserved a second term in office.
Obi, a Human Rights Activist, while addressing journalists on Tuesday in Awka, urged aspirants vying for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election to withdraw their candidacies.
Obi said instead, the aspirants should rather channel their resources into the state’s security endowment fund in support of Soludo.
According to the Activist, Soludo’s continued effort in changing the negative narrative about Awka as a glorified state capital in Nigeria and other completed and ongoing projects across the 179 communities in the state is enough evident for him to be elected.
* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Bursary and Scholarship Fund Agency has passed its second reading at Anambra State House of Assembly.
The member representing Aguata two constituency, Hon. Tony Muobike, who represents Aguata Constituency Two, explained that the proposed legislation aims to create a management framework for bursary and scholarship funds in the state.
Hon. Moubuike who sponsor the bill said
the bill seeks to support educational development by assisting indigent students, rewarding academic excellence, leadership, and extracurricular achievements, and encouraging research.
The lawmaker noted that the bill would also motivate students to pursue disciplines critical to the state and nation’s development, foster diversity in the education system, and promote research through funding.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, commended Moubuike for sponsoring the bill, stating that the bill
aligned with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda. He referred the bill to the House Committee on Education chaired by Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke further scrutiny.
* The Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr. Ossy Onuko, has reaffirmed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and proper organization in markets as a fundamental requirement for their operation.
Onuko made this assertion during a courtesy visit by the newly elected executives of Umuokpu Building Materials Market, Awka South Local Government Area, to his office.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Onuko emphasized the need for market leaders to uphold high sanitation standards and adhere strictly to government regulations. He warned against uncleanliness and unauthorized constructions in market spaces, highlighting that government would not tolerate such practices. He further charged the executives to take responsibility for ensuring a clean and orderly market environment.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, has dismissed rumours circulating on social media about his death.
Reacting, Mefor described the rumours as baseless.
The commissioner had recently criticized some religious leaders for promoting wealth without work in their teachings, which he believes has contributed to insecurity in Anambra State and the South-East region.
His comments sparked controversy, with a certain priest wishing him dead in a viral video.
