# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has appointed Dr. Anselm Onuorah as Special Adviser, Solution Diary and Documentation Unit & Chief Diarist to Mr. Governor (SDDU).

Dr. Onuorah, the author of Audacity to Transform, brings to the Solution team his wealth of knowledge and academic ability to document and keep daily records of Mr. Governor and all government activities under his desk.

The SDDU will serve as the memory bank of this administration so that no decision is lost, no meeting goes undocumented, and the Governor’s footprints are retained in the sands of time, in line with the Solution Agenda.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration’s vision to transform Anambra into Africa’s Silicon Valley is centered on the total integration of technology into every aspect of the state’s economy and governance.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Anambra Startup Investment and Technology Skills program held at the Light House in Awka, the Governor emphasized that this digital evolution is a personal commitment and a vital necessity for the state’s long-term survival, noting that the drive for a technology-led economy is not a political maneuver but a fundamental shift in how the state defines its future.

The Governor highlighted that his own career path was defined by the power of technology, noting that his past productivity and ability to manage multiple high-value consultancies would have been impossible without the efficiency gains provided by digital tools, warning that if the state fails to fully immerse its children in the heartbeat of the modern technological ecosystem, they will be left behind by a rapidly advancing world.

Prof. Soludo described the current initiatives within the state—such as the Solution Innovation District (SID) and the “1 Million Anambra Digital Tribe” project—as the building blocks of an economy where technology is everywhere, asserting that Anambra is not merely a participant in the tech revolution but a natural home for innovation, positioning the state as both the origin and the ultimate destination for tech-driven talent.

Addressing the graduates, the Governor stressed that while the government has provided the essential training and support to open the door to success, it is now the responsibility of the beneficiaries to ensure that door remains open and expands wider and encouraged the youth to take these newly acquired skills and go into the world to conquer it.

# The Anambra State Police Command has received the Inspector-General of Police, represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the South-East, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, as part of an ongoing operational tour across the South-East geopolitical zone aimed at strengthening security architecture and enhancing policing effectiveness.

The tour, initiated by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, is designed to improve operational efficiency, promote intelligence-led policing, and deepen collaboration among security agencies and critical stakeholders nationwide.

During the visit, DIG Onwuemelie engaged officers and personnel of the Anambra State Police Command, stressing the importance of developing practical, intelligence-driven solutions tailored to the unique security challenges facing Anambra State and the wider South-East region.

He also highlighted the need for officers to prepare for the future of policing through technology-driven innovations, noting that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be integrated into investigative processes, alongside specialized training programmes on the application of AI in modern policing.

Welcoming the delegation, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP. Ikioye Orutugu, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the vision of the Inspector-General in promoting community-oriented policing and strengthening security across the state.

The operational tour also provided an opportunity for strategic discussions with relevant stakeholders on intelligence sharing, crime prevention, security management, and coordinated responses to emerging threats within the region.

# The second session of the Seventh Synod of the Diocese of Ogbaru, Anglican Communion, has ended at Immanuel Anglican Church, Umunankwo, in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, with a call on governments at all levels to take adequate steps to eliminate the scourge of malaria and foster better health conditions in Nigeria.

In a six-point communiqué issued at the end of the synod and signed by the President of the Synod and Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev Prosper Amah, and the Clerical Synod Secretary, Venerable Dr. Edozie Onwunyi, the synod frowned at the persistent threat of malaria in the country and called for concerted efforts to eliminate the disease.

The synod also condemned the rising spate of political party defections in Nigeria, which it noted weakens the nation’s democratic institutions, poses a great danger to the foundations of government, and erodes public trust.

It called on political actors in Nigeria to rise above the culture of defections and embrace electoral reforms, strengthen anti-defection laws, promote ideology-based politics, encourage voter awareness, uphold internal party democracy, and pursue the moral reorientation of the nation’s political leadership.

# The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor, has paid a working visit to the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Community Security, Hon. Ken Emeakayi, at his office in Awka.

The visit centered on strengthening collaboration between the Ministry of Information and the state’s security architecture amid ongoing efforts to rid Anambra of crime and criminality.

Speaking during the visit, Dr Mefor commended the strings of successes recorded so far by Emeakayi and his team despite what he described as Anambra’s peculiar environment.

The Commissioner stressed that security remains the foundation of the Soludo administration’s “Solution Agenda”, adding that the recent crackdown on fake pastors and criminal native doctors was not an attack on religion or tradition but a sanitation exercise backed by law.

The commissioner pledged hands-on media support and proposed quarterly joint press briefings to improve public communication around their operations.

Responding, Emeakayi expressed gratitude for the visit and the ministry’s support, describing it as morale-boosting for his team, even as he thanked Governor Soludo for allowing them to serve and responding to their demands.

He explained that his office’s role is to assist the police: receive complaints, make arrests, conduct preliminary investigations, and hand over suspects with prima facie evidence for further investigation and prosecution.

# The Healthy Living HIV Control Initiative with Nonye Soludo has been inaugurated in Anambra State as part of efforts to achieve zero new HIV infections by 2030 and ensure that all residents know their HIV status.

The programme, powered by the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), also seeks to eliminate stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

The inauguration featured the swearing-in of 42 local government coordinators and the symbolic signing of the Zero New HIV Infection by 2030 Commitment Charter.

Speaking at the event in Awka, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, noted that the initiative aligns with the Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Programme through its focus on nutrition, reproductive health, physical activity, and community engagement.

She emphasized that community partnerships are essential to taking HIV awareness messages to every household and achieving the state’s target of zero new infections by 2030.

Dr. Nonye Soludo disclosed that about 11,413 people living with HIV have been enrolled in the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, enabling them to access free healthcare through support from the Global Fund.

# The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council engaged the Anambra State government and business entrepreneurs operating in Anambra State in a nation wide Subnational Engagement and Technical Reform Workshop 2026.

The forum drew an assemblage of some members of the State Executive Council, members of the State’s Chambers of Commerce, traditional rulers, business entrepreneurs, market leaders,some top government functionaries in charge of agencies and parastatals and other stakeholders in the business industry at the International Convention Centre, Awka.

The technical workshop centred on business enabling reforms and investment competitiveness.

Speaking at the forum, Pharm. Uchenna Uzoma Apakama, a certified Pharmacist and Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria endorsed the workshop as apt but urged that more commitment be made by the federal government to site more federal presence in Anambra State.

# The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter, has organized an “Evening of Tributes” in honour of a departed PR icon, mentor, elder statesman, and distinguished fellow, Chief Dr. Uche Udedibia, who served as Director of News and Current Affairs at the ABS, Emeritus Director of Protocol in old and new Anambra State, and former President-General of Ifitedunu Town Union in Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state.

The President and Chairman of Council, NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, who described the passing of Chief Udedibia as one that marks the end of a remarkable chapter in the history of public relations practice in Nigeria, noted that the deceased belonged to a rare generation of professionals whose commitment to ethical standards, professional development, and national service helped shape and elevate the practice of public relations in the country.

The Anambra State Chapter of the institute, in a tribute read by its Chairman, Dr. Ngozi Ulogu, said that the late Chief Udedibia was an astute public relations practitioner, one of the cornerstones upon which members stand, and a man who gave his all for the growth and advancement of NIPR at both the national and state levels.

Describing the deceased as a legend and doyen of protocol in Anambra State, the Deputy Chief of Protocol to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Lady Ngozi Okoye, said that the late Chief Udedibia was a distinguished statesman, accomplished administrator, consummate protocol professional, mentor extraordinaire, and an icon whose legacy remains evergreen.

For the President-General of Ifitedunu Town Union, Professor Stephen Ufoaroh, the deceased, Chief Udedibia, was a bridge-builder whose leadership inspired confidence within the community.

# Bearing this in mind and in a bid to find a lasting solution to the flooding along the Ogidi-Umudioka Road, the Anambra State Government, under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, commenced the construction of a large drainage channel in 2024 from the Nkpor-Umuoji Road, spanning over eight kilometres.

The project has two phases, with Phase One involving the channelisation of all floodwater around the Onitsha-Owerri Road, connecting to the drainage behind the Meteorological Institute, while Phase Two stretches from the Nkpor-Umuoji Road through Owelle Aja, Obosi, and terminates at the River Niger through the Meteorological Institute.

Speaking, the Project Manager, Engineer Yusuf Zreb, said they are working hard to complete the project to pave the way for the third phase, which, according to him, will channel floodwater from Ogidi to the final discharge point at the River Niger, thereby providing a permanent solution to the flooding challenge in the area.

Engineer Zreb stated that the design for the construction of the drainage that will connect with the Nkpor-Umuoji Road drainage channel is currently in progress to ensure the free flow of floodwater in the area.

Reacting to the development, a stakeholder at the Meteorological Institute, Obosi, Engineer Steven Nwoko, commended Governor Soludo for reclaiming the school environment, which had previously been affected by flooding, and appealed for the realignment of the road to enable them make proper use of it.

# Chilaka Vivian, a 200-Level student of the College of Nursing Sciences, Alor, had dreams, ambitions, and a future she was working hard to build.

But on June 14, 2026, those dreams came to a tragic end when she was found dead in her off-campus apartment in Alor, Anambra State, leaving her family, friends, and the entire school community in mourning.

According to reports, Vivian had allegedly been facing repeated unwanted advances from her landlord, which she reportedly rejected several times.

Reports further claim that on the day of the incident, the landlord allegedly confronted her again and attempted to force himself on her. Vivian reportedly resisted, leading to a violent struggle during which she was allegedly st@bb€d multiple times.

What makes the case even more disturbing is that the suspect reportedly told police that an unknown person entered the compound and kpai his tenant while he was asleep. However, investigators allegedly found inconsistencies in the story and discovered evidence that raised serious questions about what really happened.
