* The recently-dethroned Traditional Ruler of Umuona community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, H.R.H. Igwe Humphrey Ejesieme, has finally opened up, and tendered unreserved apologies to the State Government and everybody he might have offended, with regards to the circumstances leading to his dethronement. ANN recalled that Anambra State Government, recently announced the dethronement of Igwe Ejesieme, through a statement signed and issued by the State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, in which he also announced the withdrawal of the monarch’s Certificate of Recognition.

* All is set for the second phase of skill acquisition training program for youths and women in Idemili South LGA. In an announcement made by the TC chairman of the area Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi, stated that the acquisition program will feature training for hair dressing, make up, fashion and designs, head gear, nylon production and ICT. Registration starts 20th June and ends June 27th 2023.
Interested candidate are expected to pick up their forms from the local government headquarters Ojoto.

* The Dean of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Most Reverend Ali Buba Lamido says the Diocese on the Niger is placed on the international map as a Diocese that has tremendously progressed to the height of opening up a university that is taking off with medical Science Courses which is critical in present day Nigeria. Lamido in a sermon to mark the end of the four-day synod of Diocese on the Niger at Saint John’s Anglican church, Fegge, with the theme, “Feed My Lambs” said the word of God has prospered among the Anglican faithful of the Diocese.

* Hon. Ebuka Chibueze has emerge as the Youth leader of Oba Community in Idemili South local government area of Anambra state. In his acceptance speech, Chibueze expressed gratitude to God for the success of the election, thanking the youths of Oba for the confidence and believe reposed on him, promising not to disappoint them. He called on all youths and ndi Oba to join hands and contribute their quota in moving the community forward.

* The executive Governor of Anambra state Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori on his 60th birthday. During a birthday celebration held in his honour at the Event Center, Asaba, Soludo in his goodwill message, rejoiced with the Delta State Governor who he described as a friend and neighbor.

* Gunmen at about 3:00 am on Monday launched attack on Anambra Security forces but were vehemently resisted. Two of the gunmen were gunned down during exchange of fire and two AK-47 riffles were also recovered. Many of the gunmen sustained various degrees of injury and bullet wounds, while members of Anambra Security forces were unscathed.

* Anambra police command on Sunday stormed a hotel in Awka and rescued nine girls within the age bracket of 15-23years, used for sex slaves and arrested the proprietor of the hotel. The police made the arrest following the information received from Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare. ANN gathered that further interrogations/confessions of the rescued girls, reveal that the respective persons that brought them to the brothel lured/entice them on the assurances of giving them jobs to alleviate poverty/needs of their parents and dependents.

* The All Nigeria Confederation Of Principals Of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, Anambra State branch has held its 2023 State Congress with a charge on the principals to bring back the virtues for which they are known for and hand it over to the next generation. The State Congress held at Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, attracted principals and education officers from across the state.

* Anambra State Ministry of Education has given approval for the introduction of “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo” in primary and secondary schools in the state. Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo is a new project and social campaign of the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo. According to the Governor’s wife, it is an open forum for hygiene and right health enthusiasts, driven by ethics and passion.

* A nurse, Ukama Ohaegbu, has cried out for help over discrimination against her by the Federal Road Safety Corps( FRSC) in job recruitment stating that she made distinction in her nursing and midwifery certificates, she wondered why FRSC should disqualify her arbitrarily. She said her height is 1.62m but FRSC disqualified her, forcing a height of 1.58m on her, which she described as deliberate falsehood to eliminate her from the recruitment exercise.
