# Umueri community has thrown their support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term re-election bid.
Soludo and the campaign train were received at Ama Umueri in Anambra East LGA.
Speaking, the Governor promised that the Ivite Umueri to airport road will be awarded for construction after scoping, reiterating APGA as the people’s movement.
Soludo also stopped at Eke Nteje and Otuocha; where he traded and interacted with the market people.
# Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has described the spread of fake news and hate speech as criminal acts capable of undermining peace, governance, and electoral credibility.
Mefor while speaking at an event in Awka, warned against the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to caricature and mimic respected personalities, noting that such practices could damage Anambra’s image ahead of the November 8 elections.
The commissioner called for swift prosecution of offenders as a deterrent, adding that timely trials would help sanitize social media and promote a safer online space.
# A prominent APGA stakeholder in Abba, Comr. Osondu Ozumba, has expressed deep gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the local government Chairman of Njikoka, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, for the donation of vital hospital equipment to Abba Wards 1 and 2.
Speaking at the event, Ozumba described the intervention as a remarkable step towards improving healthcare delivery in the community.
Comr. Ozumba also appreciated the efforts of the Councillors representing Abba Wards 1 and 2, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, and the Deputy Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Akpua, for their continued commitment to grassroots development.
He commended their collaboration in ensuring that Abba continues to benefit from impactful projects under the Solution Government.
# The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Sector Command, has decorated three of its personnel with new ranks following their successful promotion.
Those decorated include Chioma Ndulue, Margaret Onabe, and Kingsley Iloduba, who were promoted to the ranks of Chief Route Commander and Superintendent Route Commander, respectively.
FRSC Anambra Sector Commander, Mrs Joyce Alexander, while congratulating the officers on their elevation, at the command headquarters in Amawbia,
urged them to renew their commitment and dedication to duty.
The FRSC boss encouraged the newly promoted officers to work diligently to further uplift the command, and reiterated the corps’ commitment to improving the welfare of all its personnel.
Alexander also called on Nigerians to cooperate with the FRSC in ensuring safer highways across the state and the nation.
In their remarks, the officers expressed gratitude for the recognition, and promised to remain dedicated to their responsibilities while contributing more to the success of the corps.
# Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Anambra State, Dr. Elizabeth Agwu, has reaffirmed INEC’s
readiness to conduct free, fair, and peaceful elections.
Agwu while speaking during an event in Awka, urged political actors to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric, stressing that fake news could erode citizens’ trust in the electoral process.
“Your work as truth ambassadors is critical because fake news can undermine our collective resolve for credible elections. I commend SIDEC for this important initiative,” Agwu said.
# The Anambra State House of Assembly has charged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Ministry of Transport and the Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) to ensure the removal of all unapproved bumps constructed with non-compatible materials on asphalted roads in the state.
This was contained in a motion sponsored by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon Ikenna Ofodeme
Moving the motion, Hon Ofodeme contended that for bumps or speed breakers to achieve its objectives, they must be professionally designed, properly engineered and constructed with materials compatible with asphalt technology; so as not to weaken or damage the structural integrity of road network.
The lawmaker regretted that across Anambra, many communities, individuals and groups have resorted to the indiscriminate construction of bumps on both new and old asphalted roads without the approval of the Ministry of Transport or ARTMA.
The Majority Leader who is the member representing Ekwusigo LGA maintained that the practice contradicts global standards, and observed that it causes cracks, potholes and premature deterioration of roads, thereby leading to waste of government resources.

# As Anambra State Governorship Election draw near, the Social and Integral Development Centre (SIDEC) has trained 30 Community Truth Ambassadors to combat the rising tide of disinformation, misinformation, fake news, and hate speech that threaten Nigeria’s democracy.
The training, held in Awka, Anambra State, was organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room and supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) under Project IMPACT: Inclusive Mobilization for Participation, Advocacy, and Civic Transformation.
Speaking at the event, SIDEC’s Executive Director, Mrs. Ugochi Ehiahuruike, said Project IMPACT is committed to equipping citizens, civil society groups, government actors, media professionals, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and community influencers with critical knowledge and tools to counter harmful narratives.
