* The Anambra State Chapter of Nigeria Local Government Employees (NULGE) has assured its commitment to ensuring Governor Chukwuma Soludo emerged victoriously at the 2025 governorship polls for his second term bid with a view to consolidating on the achievements recorded by his government in his first four years in office.
The President, Comrade Nicholas Aromeh who stated this during press interview in Awka, pledged total loyalties and supports of the union to Soludo’s led government in the state, especially now the wind of the guber poll is blowing in all length and breathe of the state.
He described the state as the true shinning light of the nation in all ramifications following her indelible track records in both human capital and infrastructural development since its creation thirty- three years ago in the country.
* The Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development FGN/IFAD through the Anambra State Value Chain Development Programme VCDP has recently trained 12 youth on fabricating skill.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Forster Ihejiofor during his visit to the training ground for the in Awka, applauded the initiative.
He commended the VCDP IFAD Programme on its giant stride in always coming up with innovative interventions to addressing agricultural challenges, adding that the initiative is much in line with the “1Youth 2Skills” initiative of the Chukwuma Soludo administration.
* The Chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation Hon. Ejike Okechukwu said his reason for introducing Igbo apprenticeship bill popularly known as ‘Igba boyi’ was to exterminate crimes and fight unemployment.
Hon. Okechukwu who is representing Anaocha two Constituency while playing host to the members of Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOI), who were in his office on advocacy campaign, regretted that Igbo youth were no longer engaging in Ịgba boyi due to some recent observable dishonesty involving the parties.
The lawmaker said the bill, which has passed through second reading and currently waiting for public hearings, has come to salvage the situation, while providing a regulatory framework to ensure fair treatment of apprentices, establish minimum standards for training, including mechanisms for resolving disputes among parties through a commission.
* Youths, men and women have been tutored on aqua culture form of Agriculture. The event held at Uche Ekwunife event center in Awka, the training tagged ‘Technology Skill Transfer of Aqua Bio“, attracted by the former member that represented Anambra Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Uche Ekwunife was powered by the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
Over two hundred participants at the event were selected from all the three hundred and twenty-six wards of the state.
The three-day event featured lectures, training, practicals and excursion to a fish pond in Okpuno with concrete ponds and ovun.
* The Head of Service, Anambra State, Mrs Theodora Igwegbe (Esq), has charged Staff of Ministry of Lands to always abide by the provisions of the Public Service Rules in discharging their duties.
The HOS made the call during a two-day training workshop organized for Senior Staff of Anambra State Ministry of Lands held at the conference hall of Arnold and Associates Group Headquarters, Brownwood Luxury Estate, Millennium City Layout, Awka,
Mrs Igwegbe, while commending the Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi (SAN), for the transformative leadership he had brought to bear in the ministry, extended same commendation to the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe (Esq), for her supportive role to the commissioner in carrying out Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of prosperous and liveable homeland through a progressive land administration in Anambra State.
* Anambra Police Command have in custody a suspect name withheld, a member of a gang that specializes in Child trafficking between the age bracket of 13 years – 16 years to neighbouring countries like Ghana, Benin Republic etc
The arrest is following the concern of the Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, about the spate of reports of missing persons, especially within Okpoko, Onitsha and tasked the Police Operatives to nip such in the bud.

The suspect is also currently undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) Awka for possible rescue of other victims and arrest of other gang members
* Members of Umudei family in Onitsha North Local Government Area have appealed to the Anambra State Government to stop Okposieke family from trespassing into the land at Onitsha Sports club which was given to them on lease by the Colonial Government through federal Government.
The people made the appeal when they staged a peaceful protest in favour of Onitsha Sports Club at the facility in dispute.
The protesters displayed placards with inscriptions such as “We do not support violence”, “the area in dispute is our land”, among others.
* Connected Development, (CODE) a pan-African organization has introduced its project, (Open Parly) to Anambra State House of Assembly as part of its contribution towards better service delivery through improved relationship between the lawmakers and their constituents.
CODE is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with a mission to empower grassroots communities in Africa with information to hold their government accountable to aid the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and drive social change through the instrumentality of informed citizen engagement and rebuilding trust in the governance process.
The advocacy visit to the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, was to inform him of the inclusion of Anambra among “Open Parly” project states.
* Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has organized trainees value reorientation workshop for all the trainees in the 21 LGA of the state. This is in readiness for the takeoff of the second batch of 1 youth 2 skills solution programme.
Declaring the workshop open at the Prof. Dora Akunyilu Center, Awka, the Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba congratulated the selected trainees for being lucky among 8,620 selected trainees for the programme and also said that the value reorientation workshop was to set the right value for a prosperous homeland.
* The Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Works, Mr Munachi Samuel Obi has stated that efforts should be made to strengthen the foundation of every Civil Engineering student to stem the tides of building collapse.
Mr Obi stated this at the Induction Ceremony of first year students of Civil Engineering Department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Delivering a lecture with the theme “The Menace of Building Collapse in Nigeria; The Role of Civil Engineers” Obi said that building collapse is a general problem in Nigeria.
He enumerated some causes of building collapse to include corruption. According him, government has an approval unit, but it’s a pity that most of the agencies in charge of approving drawings are ladden with corruption, and in most cases, you may hardly see a Civil Engineer in such approval unit. He said that was the case in Anambra State before the coming of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
