The United States has praised President Bola Tinubu for its sustained commitment to combating terrorism and improving security across the country.
US Ambassador to Nigeria Richard Mills made the commendation on Tuesday during a meeting with senior Nigerian officials in Abuja.
He highlighted recent gains by Nigerian security forces, including the elimination of several high-profile terrorist leaders and the disruption of insurgent supply lines in the northeast.
“We commend the Tinubu administration for its strong commitment to addressing terrorism and enhancing the safety of Nigerian citizens,” Mills said.
The ambassador also noted the positive impact of increased intelligence sharing and joint operations between Nigerian and US forces.
“These efforts have contributed to a measurable reduction in terrorist activities in several regions,” he added.
Mills further expressed Washington’s continued support for Nigeria’s counter-terrorism initiatives, including training and equipment assistance, while urging sustained political will to tackle underlying causes of insecurity.
