VeryDarkMan has reacted to a viral incident in which youths in Benue State confronted and drove away opposition politician Peter Obi, expressing hope that the same collective action would be shown against armed groups.
Videos of the confrontation between Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and a leading figure in the opposition, and a group of young people in Benue circulated widely online, prompting widespread commentary.
In his response, VeryDarkMan praised the youths for their coordination while raising doubts about consistency in the face of insecurity.
“Benue youths showed togetherness and composure to chase Peter Obi from their peaceful land. I am happy they stood their ground and also happy they can come together like that, I just hope when bandits and terrorists come around, they can do the same,” he said.
