Ex-militant, Alhaji Asari Dokubo has bragged that Nigerians will still be led by Muslim politicians after the administration of president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vice-president-elect, Kashim Shettima.
ANN reports that Messrs. Tinubu and Shettima of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are expected to take the mantle of leadership in May. Both men are Muslims, and their ticket had raised eyebrows among the Christian population.
Speaking in a Facebook Live on Monday, monitored by ANN, Dokubo condemned the populist presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who he said “weaponised the church” in the last presidential election. Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Dokubo said: “He (Obi) weaponised the church. Look at how Christianity has disgraced itself in Nigeria. Muslim-Muslim ticket, we won. Next time, we will come with it again.
“Since you have declared war on us, we will come with the Muslim-Muslim ticket again. Come with your Christian-Christian ticket.
“Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the person people are calling a Jihadist? ‘Haba’. Destroying the best black-African performing politician. How are we going to progress?
“Sometimes it pains me that you compare Obi to Tinubu. Black people, we have to be examining our head.”
