The Transition Committee Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Rome Ibekwe has flagged off a skill acquition training programme at the Council Headquarters, Neni.
The beneficiaries who were drawn from all the wards in Anaocha, will undergo a six months training after after which they will be empowered.
The will be trained in tailoring, cosmetology and makeup, footwear making, catering, decorations, cosmetology, ICT, solar energy installation.

Hon. Ibekwe, while speaking said this is part of the efforts to ensure a bright future for the youths of the council area.
Hon. Ibekwe said the initiative is inline with the Solution Agenda of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration who has done everything possible to engage the youths in positive ventures.
He revealed that the training will help to channel the minds of the youths to productive living, reduce crime and criminality, and to instill them with the virtues of hardwork, disciplince and patience
The Anaocha Boss encouraged the trainees very committed to the programme so as to equip themelves with necessary skills they need to become self reliant and parents and guardians to avail their wards this opportunity to learn a skill.
The flag-off ceremony also featured the commissioning of Anaocha Solution Kitchen for use by staff of the council and other guests to the council headquarters.
In his speech, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo On Youth Empowerment Programmes, Dr Nelson Omenugha described Comrade Ibekwe as a youth with vision to build others and stated that the programmes and initiatives he has birthed since he assumed office, it will be safe to say that “Anaocha is in safe hands.
Dr Omenugha underscored the importance of earning a skills in the contemporary Nigerian society; saying that it is a solution to not just the economic needs of beneficiaries but to the entire society as the economy of any society is driven by micro and small scale enterprises.
In a welcome address, the Co-ordinator Of Anaocha Skill Acquisition Center, Mrs. Oby Mmadumere said the aim of the skill center is to enable people in that locality to acquire gainful skills to eradicate poverty and crime.
In their goodwill messages, some stakeholders, Chief Ben Amobi-Mmadu and Chief Mrs Ifeyinwa Ajulufor extolled the Transition Committee Chairman for coming up with ideas that will impact the younger generation and advised the beneficiaries to be dedicated to the opportunity.
For the Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Anaocha Local Government Area, Sir Anthony Ugorji and the Woman Leader of the party, Mrs Ijeoma Sunny-Egbuna maintained that the Solution administration has continued to better the lives of Ndi Anambra and called on the people of the Local Government Area to continue to support the government to receive more dividends of democracy.
Responding on behalf of the trainees, the Youth President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU in Anaocha Local Government Area, Comrade Chisom Nnadi noted that the idea of investing in the lives of youths is a commendable progressive idea and commended Comrade Ibekwe for starting with the youths as the skills they will learn from the training will help them through our their lives.
