A Nigerian man identified as Tembu Ebere, who attempted to cry for 100 hours to set the Guinness World Record, GWR, has gone blind.
In an attempt to break a record that doesn’t exist, Nigerian influencer Tembu Ebere tried to spend as much time as possible crying, non-stop. “Send your problems to me. I will cry for you”, said the comedian, in an attempt to carry out the ‘Cry-a-thon’ challenge and be registered in the Guinness World Record. By posting a video while crying next to a timer, which marked 2h7min, the comedian gained 5.3 million views on the social network.
“Go, man, you can do it”, encouraged one of his followers. “Honestly, I’ve cried longer, I think,” joked another. Ebere spent seven days trying to cry non-stop.
However, the effort to shed tears brought health problems: in an interview with the BBC, the man said he had a headache, with his face and eyes swollen, and even without vision for about 45 minutes.
While speaking of his determination to cry for one week nonstop, he stated that “I had to re-strategise and reduce my wailing.”
Ebere had a few days ago, in a viral post accompanied by a flyer on social media, declared his interest to embark on seven days of non-stop cry-a-thon.
ANN learnt that another Nigerian lady, Joyce Ijeoma, had two weeks ago collapsed during a 72-hour longest body massage attempt in the Lekki area of the State.
