* The President General of Enugwu-Agidi community, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Chukwuebuka Onuorah, has denied having any intention to dispossess any individual, group, or village of their land or other property. Onuorah was speaking in response to the allegation that he and the Transition Committee Chairman for Njikoka Local Government, Mr. Clement Aguiyi, are using their position and influence to witch-hunt and dispossess the people of Normu Village in Enugwu-Agidi of their land
* Anambra Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo has received “African Jewel of Integrity, Human Dignity and Social Justice” award in Awka.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of Editorial Board of Freenews Magazine, Mr. Obinna Mbonu, said it was in recognition of the Commissioner’s commitment to ensuring that everyone within the jurisdiction of her ministry is protected, urging her not to relent.
* The Senator representing Anambra Central District, Chief Victor Umeh, has described Margret Obi, the wife of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, as a lesson in humility. Umeh stated this in his birthday felicitations to Lady Margaret recently.
* The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba has commended the proactivity of Anambra state government in ensuring that would-be flood displaced persons this year will not suffer untold hardships. Udoba while speaking to reporters on the level of preparations by the state government for the welfare of the potential flood displaced persons, noted that the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the people of the flood prone local governments will have a sense of relief this year unlike in previous years.
* Anambra Chairman of NYCN Surv. Emeka Obi has issued letter of introduction, ID card to cordinators in the state. Speaking while issuing the letters to the cordinators, the state chairman Obi congratulated them once again for their emergence as the cordinators in their various Local Government and advised them to discharge their duty diligently. He futher assured them of his unwavering support anytime any day
* Twelve different types of improved economic seedlings totalling seven thousand have been distributed to beneficiaries of Anambra State FG/IFAD VCDP across the eight participating council areas. Inaugurating the distribution exercise tagged “Establishment of Tree Planting and Woodlot Plantation” in Awka, the Anambra State Programme Coordinator, FGN IFAD VCDP, Mr Nnamdi Agwuncha, explained that the beneficiaries are farmers that have processing centres.
* The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, has said that God did everything to pave the way for his overwhelming victory during the 2023 elections and in the tribunal where a number of petitions were filed against his triumph. He said as a Catholic, he had dedicated his recent victory at the election petition tribunal to Mother Mary,who he said fought for him against those who played God to truncate his success both in the 2023 elections and in the election petition tribunal.
* Mentally unstable woman popularly known as ‘Mama Blessing’ gave birth to a bouncing baby girl at Amansea in Awka North local government area of Anambra. Sharing the baby powder to well-wishers as a custom amongst Igbo people, Mama Blessing was happy that her bundle of joy is safe and sound.
* The member representing Anambra East/ West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Udogala Anekwe, has dedicated his victory over Chinedu Obidigwe of All Progressives Grand Alliance at the National/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal to the people of the Federal Constituency.
Speakng to newsmen over his elation in the victory the legislator said he would not treat with scant regard the massive support accorded him by the people of the Federal Constituency during the election and as the election petition lasted.
* Anambra State traditional rulers have called on investors to feel free and secured to invest in the state. The traditional ruler of Okpuno and Deputy Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Sunday Okafor made the call at the 2023 Anambra State Investment Summit held at the International Conference Center, Awka.
* The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Anambra State Council, has welcomed the new council member of the NIPR, Prof. Kate Omenugha with a special ceremony in Awka. Speaking at the event, Prof. Angela Nwammuo, the Chairman of the NIPR Anambra State Council, expressed delight in having Professor Omenugha join the council. She commended her outstanding contributions to the field of Public Relations and emphasized the significance of her role within the state.
