The Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has been honoured by Umuada Amawbia, popularly known as “Ugbogiliga” in Awka South LGA.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Rt. Hon. Okoye who is the member representing Awka South two constituency in his speech at the event held at Amawbia town hall field, expressed gratitude to the Umuada Amawbia and his community for their unwavering support and pledged to continue serving the state with dedication and excellence.
Okoye, a distinguished son of Amawbia, known for his philanthropic and exceptional representative of the constituency and vibrancy in the seventh and eighth assembly, called for unity of purpose in the town and a de-escalation in internal politics to move the town forward, urging all warring parties to shield their sword.
The leader of the Umuada, Mrs. Ekene Nwanna who spoke through Mrs. Ngozi Obiajulu said that the event was organized by the women to welcome, appreciate and encourage their son for all the dividends of democracy he has attracted to the community and across in all the communities across in the constituency.
Mrs Nwanna said this was the reason they gathered to show him him with prayers and blessings so that he will continue to succed and progress in all his endeavours and politically.
The traditional prime minister of Amawbia, Chief Nnaemeka Mmaduka who spoke through Chief Felix Nzeamalu said the testimonies of Hon. Okoye’s quality representation resonate in the communities that make up Awka constituency two.
A former Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Josephine Anenih and a woman leader in the town, Chief Mrs Cecilia Anaekwe said that the event proves to show the silent acknowledgement and love for their children and community in supporting and encouraging good morals and excellence in the society and assured the lawmaker of their continuous support and prayers upon him and his household.
