# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) pledging to provide necessary assistance to enable the Corps to effectively fulfill its statutory mandate of protecting Critical National Assets and infrastructure.

Prof. Soludo, stated this when he received Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Commandant General of NSCDC alongside other very senior officers at the Governor’s Lodge, Light House Awka.

During the visit, the Governor acknowledged the pivotal role of NSCDC in the state, particularly in the Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and clearance operations. These efforts, he noted, have been instrumental in reclaiming and restoring peace and security to isolated locations and towns previously held by secessionist groups.

# As part of efforts geared towards returning Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim on November 8 governorship election in the state, the Chairman of Awka Ward 4, Soludo/Ibezim Campaign Council, Chief Igwedumma Nwofor, and leadership of Awka Ward 4, held Pulling Unit Campaign council for reelection meeting to brainstorm on how to safeguard their votes and ensure they count.

Held in Awka, the event which also featured endorsement rally for Governor Soludo and his Deputy, Dr Ibezim offered opportunity for members of APGA Ward 4 Awka to present their voter cards as they all raised their voter cards in the air, prooving their readiness to go to the polls come November 8

Addressing the members of the ward, the convener of the meeting, Chief Igwedumma Nwofor said that the meeting was necessary in order to educate members of the ward their rightful polling units and to remind pulling units managers they had inaugurated that it is their duty to win more people for their ward to ensure that they come out victorious in the election.

He urged them not to allow any vote to waste on the election day, and commended them for multiplying their number soon after their inauguration, calling on them to up their efforts.

# Ijeoma Lynda Omenugha, the daughter of the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha, has bagged a research fellowship appointment with the School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lancashire (UCLan).

She shared the good news on Facebook page and wrote;

“I am absolutely delighted to announce my appointment as an Honorary Research Fellow with the School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lancashire (UCLan).

“This appointment comes in recognition of my contributions to Medical Education and Research, and it marks another milestone in my journey as a Clinician, Researcher, and advocate for women’s health.

“In this role, I will support the vital work of the School of Medicine at UCLan over the next three years, while completing my specialty training.

“My research will focus on women’s health, particularly obstetrics and chronic gynecological conditions; areas that deeply align with my passion and the work we do at Heroesforher.ng, empowering women and girls to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

I’m excited about the opportunities this fellowship presents and look forward to impactful collaborations, continuous learning, and making meaningful contributions toward advancing women’s health research and medical education”.

# A maiden town hall meeting and stakeholders’ engagement of Old Anambra District Development Association, (OADDA), has ended with a call on government to dredge Omambala river as the immediate solution of the incessant flooding of the area.

The town hall meeting with the theme “OADDA Maka Odimma Omambala” which was held at Aguleri, Anambra East LGA was attended by top government officials, traditional, town union and women leaders from Omambala region.

Addressing the gathering, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Legal Matters, Barrister Tobechukwu Nweke underscored the importance of the region to the development of Anambra and harped that this is why the Soludo administration has prioritized their welfare and development in his government.

Barrister Nweke, who is also the Director General of Soludo-Ibezim Campaign Council in Anambra East Local Government Area asked Ndi Omambala to join in re-electing the Governor as he has played a pivotal role in their development.

# A Former Member of the House of Representatives; Hon. Uchenna Eleodimmuo has congratulated Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu on his Inauguration as a Member of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

Hon. Eleodimmuo described the inauguration as a historic moment not just for the Senatorial Zone but for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), especially as it was a landslide victory for the Party.

He prayed for a successful and impactful representation for the zone while assuring the Senatorial zone that Senator Nwachukwu will ensure effective representation for the people.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on academics to engage in community service, beyond teaching and research.

The Governor who was speaking in Awka at the Higher Education Stakeholders Forum, a Tertiary Education Stakeholders Summit for Soludo, tasked the academics on building the capacity to multitask in order to develop the society.

Soludo further encouraged the academics to continue on the path of investing their brilliant ideas in developing Anambra state, assuring of his commitment to building the education sector.

The theme for the summit is; “Education and Sustainable Development in Nigeria: Why Anambra State Must Remain Focused”.

# Commandant General of NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has commended the Anambra State government for its proactive measures in providing a secure environment for Anambra residents.

Speaking during a courtesy visit, Audi also requested logistics support from the state government to enhance the Corps’ operational readiness to tackle potential security threats.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for the warm reception. My visit has three purposes. Firstly, I came to pay homage to the Governor and notify him of my presence in the state.

” I wish to thank the Governor for the support his administration has been giving to the Corps.

“Permit me to highlight that the NSCDC is a grassroots security agency, tasked with protecting the nation’s critical assets and infrastructure from vandalism. We remain resolute in delivering on this mandate and providing quality service for Nigerians, particularly the people of Anambra,” Prof. Audi stated.

# The Chairman of Idemili South local government, Dr. Mrs Amaka Obi on Wednesday 8th October, 2025, carried out an inspection of the ongoing landscaping project at the Nnobi General Hospital.

The initiative is sponsored by the Nnobi Union North America (NUNA) under the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) model of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration.

The Mayor while speaking during the inspection commended the professionalism and dedication of the contractors handling the project.
