# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed his earnest congratulations to the new Security Service Chiefs recently appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Soludo, in his goodwill message, commended the appointments of General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General W. Shaibu as the Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as the Chief of Naval Staff, as representing a pivotal step towards strengthening the security architecture of our great nation.

The Governor expressed confidence in the leadership, expertise and experience the seasoned military professionals bring to their new roles at this critical time when our nation faces evolving security challenges.

He added that it is imperative for the service chiefs to engage with all stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to tackling insecurity in Nigeria and secure the lives and properties of all Nigerians.

Also, the Governor reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Government to support the Federal Government and the newly appointed security chiefs in their efforts to combat insecurity in the Southeast as well as foster a peaceful, safe environment for all citizens.

# Emeka Ojukwu Centre For Research And Development has successfully delivered its 3rd international hybrid conference in Awka with a call for the use of the Quintuple Helix model to enhance the nation’s indigenous technology.

The call was made by the founder and director of the centre Prof. Uche Okpala at the conference with the theme,”Quintuple Helix model:A Veritable Tool For For Building Smart Environment, Innovative And Sustainable Economy,’

According to Prof. Okpala, the quintuple helix model which encompasses knowledge, policy, business, culture and ecological consciousness are Veritable tools that can galvanize inclusive and practical roadmaps to a robust national economy.

The director asked participants to increase analysis in global best practices,showcase local innovations,and strengthen networks that will translate research into impact.

He unleashed the needs of the centre to include research laboratories, library, office complex, conference room, research equipments,bus for the centre and partnership with relevant agencies.

# The National Community Policing Campaign, NCPC, in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC has named His Worship, Chief Magistrate Onome Martha Nwankwo, the Administrative Magistrate of Ogbaru Magisterial District in Anambra state as the best Magistrate in Nigeria for the year 2025.

Executive Director of NCPC-ICPC, Kingsley Ubah who disclosed this while decorating her with the best award at Magistrate Court 1 Hall, Okpoko in Ogbaru Magisterial District located inside Okpoko Community Development Union Secretariat, said Chief Magistrate Nwankwo took the lead among other judicial officers selected and eventually she was unanimously nominated by the NCPC after a close monitor at her incorruptible style of dispensation of justice in the judicial system.

He therefore urged the judicial officers in the country to emulate her exemplary gestures by shunning all forms of corruption, dishonesty and sharp practices capable of demeaning the integrity of judicial officers in the country.

The event was preside over by Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor, Bishop of Awka Diocese, who in his homily urged students to learn well, practice well, and aim to achieve excellence through dedication and hard work.

Similarly, the final year students showcased their innovations and projects during the exhibition, which drew the admiration of guests and dignitaries present.

# The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, has appealed to the 131 parishes, chaplaincies, and Mass centres of the Diocese, to obey the Anambra State Burial Law, for the overall good of less-privileged individuals in society.

The Catholic Bishop, who made the appeal while addressing the chairmen and the vice-chairmen of the parishes, chaplaincies, Mass centres, including the diocesan leaders of the statutory organizations of the Diocese, during the Diocesan Second Pastoral Council Meeting, 2025, reiterated his support for the burial law.

Bishop Ezeokafor, during the meeting, honoured the best performed parishes in the 2025 Cathedraticum with awards of appreciation, for their effort during the Cathedraticum.

# The local government Chairman of Anaocha LGA, Hon. Rome Ibekwe has commissioned newly renovated works department, housing eight offices and stores in the council’s headquarters.

Ibekwe in his address during the commissioning, urged workers to sustain reforms in Local Governments By Voting Governor Chukwuma Soludo during the November 8th 2025 Anambra governorship election.

The Mayor challenged local government workers not to mortgage their conscience but sustain the ongoing reforms in the local government system by voting Soludo.

The local government Chairman maintained that his primary vision is to transform all sectors of the local government area which are in the footsteps of Governor Chukwuma Soludo but frowned at those who despite witnessing an end to the challenges that had been facing the local government system still decide to support candidates and political parties whose track record has negatively impacted the development of state because of monetary gains.

Chief Ibekwe revealed that the payment of workers’ salaries as at when due, promotions, regular training and retraining of staff now witnessed among the local government workforce, other projects of the Soludo administration in roads, construction of new and renovation and re-equipment of hospitals with equipments and other transformation projects of his administration in Anaocha Local Government Area are tangible evidence that must convince everyone to vote the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, again.

# The YPP candidate for the November 8 Anambra State gubernatorial election, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has said that the current government in Anambra State led by Prof. Charles Soludo has failed to deliver his promise of a liveable homeland to Ndi Anambra.

According to Paul Chukwuma, Soludo’s inability to perform is more profoundly dramatised by his failure to ensure that Anambra residents have access to portable water, which is fundamental to the very existence of every modern man.

This failure, Chukwuma said, is far removed from Soludo’s traditional weakness in ensuring security, embarking on sustainable, people oriented infrastructure, among others.

Speaking, Sir Paul Chukwuma said that he has observed that the so-called restoration of water in parts of the state, particularly Onitsha and Awka, is “a fluke” or at best “mere political stunt.” Yet, “humongous amount of public funds were disbursed in pursuit of that jamboree,” Chukwuma regretted.
