Angela Okorie’s Mgt Denies ‘Misleading’ Re-Arrest After Bail

Representatives of Nollywood actress Angela Okorie have denied claims that she was re-arrested following her release from custody, dismissing online reports as inaccurate and urging the public to rely on verified information, her management said on Wednesday.

The controversy began after multiple media outlets reported that Okorie was taken back into custody at Suleja Correctional Centre shortly after being granted bail in connection with a cybercrime case. Those reports suggested the re-arrest stemmed from an alleged refusal to pay legal fees owed to a lawyer who had secured her release.

In a statement released on social media, The Moving Train Entertainment, which represents the actress, called the re-arrest claims “inaccurate and misleading” and said Okorie remains free.

“The management of Angela Okorie hereby clarifies that she is currently free and has not been re-arrested as alleged. Her bail conditions have been met and finalised,” the statement said.

Okorie had been granted bail last week by a Federal High Court in Abuja after her arrest in late January, which followed a petition filed by fellow actress Mercy Johnson in a case involving alleged cyberstalking and cyberbullying. The bail terms included a ₦5 million bond with a surety.

The actress’s management urged members of the public to “rely only on verified and credible sources” for updates about her legal situation, emphasising that Okorie is expected to speak to supporters soon.

Okorie’s case has drawn attention online, with colleagues and fans expressing concern over reports of her legal struggles and the dispute over allegations surrounding her actions and bail conditions.
