JUST IN: Iran Fires Missiles at Israel in Retaliation for Joint US-Israeli Strikes

Iran launched missiles toward Israel in retaliation for coordinated airstrikes by the United States and Israel on its territory, escalating a long-simmering conflict that has drawn in regional powers and raised fears of broader war.

The barrage followed US President Donald Trump’s confirmation of “major combat operations” in Iran to neutralize “imminent threats from the Iranian regime,” and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of “Operation ‘The Roar of the Lion'” to eliminate the “existential threat” posed by Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and regime.

In a video message, Trump stated: “The US military had begun ‘major combat operations’ to defend American interests by neutralizing ‘imminent threats from the Iranian regime.'”

He reiterated accusations against Tehran, citing “47 years of hostility including threats of ‘Death to America’ and attacks on US forces and allies.”

Netanyahu addressed Israeli citizens, saying: “A short time ago, Israel and the United States embarked on an operation to remove the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran.”

He thanked Trump for his “historic leadership” and urged ethnic groups within Iran — Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baluchis, and Ahwazis — to rise against their government for a “free and peaceful Iran.” Netanyahu also called on Israelis to follow Home Front Command instructions, warning of challenges ahead.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported detecting the incoming missiles and activating sirens nationwide. “The defense is not hermetic,” the IDF warned, urging the public to “strictly follow Home Front Command guidelines for protection” as it intercepted threats and struck back.

Visuals from Tehran showed smoke rising over the city after explosions near key government sites.
