Netflix Raises Subscription Prices Across All Tiers

Netflix has increased monthly fees for all its subscription plans in the United States, with hikes of between one and two dollars per tier, the streaming giant announced on Thursday.

The adjustments, quietly updated on the company’s “Plans and Pricing” page, affect new subscribers immediately and will roll out to existing customers over the coming weeks via email notifications.

Standard with Ads rises to $8.99 from $7.99, Standard to $19.99 from $17.99, and Premium to $26.99 from $24.99. The cost of adding extra members outside a household also increased by one dollar, to $7.99 on ad-supported plans and $9.99 on ad-free plans.

Netflix framed the changes as necessary to sustain investment in content. In a statement to the media, the company said the increases would allow it to “continue delivering more value” through new shows, movies, games and features.

The move marks the second price rise across all tiers in just over a year. Executives have cited strong subscriber growth, password-sharing crackdowns and a $20 billion programming budget for 2026 as justification for the adjustments.

Netflix shares rose about two percent in trading following the announcement. The company expects the changes to boost average revenue per user in the United States and Canada by roughly six percent year-on-year.
