Ghana has dismissed national team coach Otto Addo just 10 weeks before the 2026 World Cup, hours after a 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany and amid a four-game losing streak.
The Ghana Football Association announced the decision on Tuesday, describing it as necessary following recent poor performances that included a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria the previous week.
“The association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the GFA said in a statement.
It added that the new technical direction for the Black Stars would be communicated “in due course.”
Addo, 50, had been in charge since March 2024. Ghana are drawn in Group G alongside England, Croatia and Panama for the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
