Kenneth Okonkwo Accuses APC of Plot to Undermine ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

A senior official of the African Democratic Congress has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to weaken the ADC and other opposition parties in the run-up to the 2027 general elections.

The allegation was made by ADC chieftain and former Anambra State governorship candidate Nicholas Okonkwo during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

Okonkwo claimed the APC was using “subtle infiltration and inducement” to destabilise the ADC.

“The APC is plotting to weaken the ADC by sponsoring internal divisions and luring key members with offers of appointments and contracts,” he said. “Their goal is to ensure that no credible opposition platform emerges in 2027.”

He warned that such tactics would not succeed, adding: “We are aware of their game plan and will not allow the ADC to be compromised or fragmented.”

Okonkwo called on ADC members to remain vigilant and united, describing the party as the only viable platform capable of challenging the ruling party in the next polls.

The APC has not yet responded to the claims.
