# The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered a suspected Toyota Corolla, at the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Desk Office, Nnewi, Anambra State.
The recovery followed a meticulous verification process triggered during an attempt to process proof of ownership documents on the NVIS portal.
Upon scrutiny, the chassis number initially presented raised suspicion, prompting further verification by the NVIS Officer, which ultimately revealed discrepancies linked to an already registered vehicle in the database.
Acting on professional instinct and adherence to standard procedures, the NVIS Officer requested for a physical confirmation of the chassis number from the vehicle body.
A thorough check on the NVIS portal exposed the true identity of the vehicle and its rightful owner, Mr. Onyechi Dickson Eze of Awka, Anambra State.
# The Anambra State Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno has paid an unscheduled visit to the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare to assess the level of compliance with the directive on environmental sanitation across ministries.
During the visit, Iwouno directed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Chinwe Achugbu, to ensure full compliance with the circular issued by her office, particularly on the disposal and assessment of defective office equipment, as well as adherence to general cleaning standards.
The directive, she noted, follows the recent unscheduled visit by the State Governor to the Secretariat.
The Head of Service expressed concern over the presence of obsolete and defective equipment still littering the ministry’s environment. She described the level of untidiness observed as unsatisfactory and called for immediate improvement and strict adherence to sanitation guidelines.
Despite her concerns, she commended the Permanent Secretary for the impressive staff turnout, noting that it reflects compliance with the resolution of the College of Permanent Secretaries on improved staff attendance and workplace cleanliness.
# The Local Government Chairman of Idemili North Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka says his visit to Community Primary School, Abatete would bring about positive changes and massive turnaround.
The Mayor while speaking during an unscheduled visit to the School assured the management, teachers, and students their challenges would be addressed.
Chief Nkwoka who was conducted round the school’s premises by the Head Mistress, Lady Francisca Ntukogu, to have first-hand information about the challenges facing the school, pledging to renovate the school and equip it with teaching and non-teaching materials.
According to Lady Ntukogu, the school had a total of 393 pupils with 12 teachers and one P.T.A teacher, making it 13.

# The traditional ruler of Omasi Igwe Dr. Benjamin Okeji has called for the declaration of a state of emergency on the energy sector.
To this end, the traditional ruler called for the total overhaul of the system in favour of bringing on board sincere and workable blueprint to salvage the sector.
In a press statement in Awka, he called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver on the promise he made to Nigerians that under his watch, the energy sector will be rejigged in the second year of his administration.
The royal father lamented that Nigeria has the material and human capitals to drive the energy sector but lacks the political will to actualize it.
Igwe Okeji advised that it is not too late to salvage the situation and therefore urged the president to confront the challenges in the sector to save Nigerians the pains of sufferings in the midst of plenty.

The Deputy Governor further observed that Awka is undergoing significant transformation under the current administration, pointing to ongoing infrastructural developments, including the 57 structures in Government House, a project he described as a landmark and unprecedented.

# The Traditional Ruler of Amawbia Community in Awka South LGA, Igwe Uchenna Okonkwo, has described Nigeria as a broken nation with a bleak future.
The Monarch who made the remark in his palace, while playing a host to the State Acting Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate, Awka, Barrister Lady Ifeoma Chijioke, who paid him an advocacy visit alongside her management staff, maintained that Nigeria as a broken nation is yearning for repair.
Igwe Okonkwo observed with great dismay that Nigerian leaders both present and in the past had refused blatantly to telling Nigerians the real truth about the country as fathers, and blamed the gross misfortunes befalling Nigeria today on the abysmal ignorance of the leaders, calling for total moral rebirth to save the country from total collapse.
He condemned in its entirety the high rate of moral decadence in the country, calling on the Nigerian lawmakers at all levels to work towards putting into practice the instant laws prohibiting all manners of immoral practice among all ages in the country.
# The Anambra State Disability Community has commended the Member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Engr. Dominic Okafor, for his consistent humanitarian interventions and inclusive leadership style, even as they called for greater participation of persons with disabilities in governance and public programs.
This commendation came during the celebration of Hon. Okafor’s birthday held at St. Martin’s Adult and Children Welfare Home, Igboukwu, where the federal lawmaker donated a brand-new 30KVA generator alongside various food items to support the facility.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Anambra State Disability Rights Commission, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie, praised Hon. Okafor’s enduring legacy of kindness, describing him as a leader whose representation has positively impacted all segments of society, including persons with disabilities.
