ADC Nat’l Convention Proceeds Despite Venue Uncertainty, Says Melaye

The African Democratic Congress has confirmed it will hold its national convention on Tuesday as scheduled, despite reports of difficulties securing a venue, according to party chieftain Dino Melaye.

Melaye, a prominent ADC leader, dismissed concerns over the venue in a statement on Monday, insisting the event would go ahead without interruption.

“We are aware of the challenges, but the national convention of the ADC will hold tomorrow as planned. No amount of intimidation or sabotage will stop us,” he said.

He added that the party had made alternative arrangements to ensure the gathering of delegates from across the country proceeds smoothly.

The convention is expected to address the ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC and chart the party’s strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Melaye urged all registered delegates to remain calm and prepare to attend, describing the gathering as a critical step toward building a stronger opposition platform.

No official comment has yet been issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission on the planned convention.
