Blord Freed From Kuje Prison, to be ‘Welcomed at Anambra Airport’

Popular cryptocurrency businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, known as Blord, regained his freedom on Monday evening after fulfilling bail conditions at the Kuje Correctional Facility in Abuja.

Blord had been remanded in prison days earlier over allegations of impersonating social media critic VeryDarkMan. A court granted him bail on Friday, requiring him to surrender his international passport, but he was returned to custody when the document could not reach Abuja from Anambra State in time.

He perfected the conditions on Monday and walked free. Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore announced the development, sharing a video of the release on social media.

“Linus Williams, also known as @mrblordofficial, is finally out of Kuje Prison, and that outcome is a reminder that collective action can yield results. No one should be abandoned to unjust detention. No one shall be left behind. THANK YOU, EVERYONE,” Sowore wrote.

The case had drawn significant public attention, with supporters rallying for Blord’s release. Sowore credited collective advocacy for helping secure the outcome.

Blord, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s crypto space, had spent roughly two weeks in detention before Monday’s release. No further court details were immediately available.

“a moment of joy and excitement”

In an official statement, the company confirmed that Blord is expected at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport by 1:00 p.m., describing the moment as significant for supporters.

“The wait is over. We are pleased to announce that Blord will be arriving… tomorrow by 1:00 PM,” the statement read, adding that his return signals “a moment of joy and excitement for all who have stood in support.”

The group also acknowledged the backing he received during his absence, stating, “We appreciate the love, loyalty, and unwavering support from everyone.”
