A bill to provide for the establishment of Commuters Manifest Scheme in Anambra State and for other releated matters, has been passed into law.
The bill which was sponsored by the Chief Whip and member representing Ihiala one constituency, Barr. Jude Ngobili, was passed into law after scaling through third reading on Thursday.

Hon. Ngobili maintained that the essence of the law is to keep data of passengers coming in and out of Anambra State.
The lawmaker noted that in cases of accident or attacks, victims can be tracked and compensated.
” This bill aims at safeguarding travelers who will submit their details such as names, phone numbers, address, next of kin in case of accident.
“There will be a Board of Trustees which will have seven member, whose job is to make sure that this law is obeyed and implemented.
“It will no longer be business as usual.
Every passenger that goes into the park must be accounted for. This is for the safety of ndi Anambra, because every life matters.
Anambra Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided plenary, commended Ngobili for sponsoring the bill, noted that the law is coming at the right time.
The Speaker maintained that the law will take effect from May 25th 2026.
