Governor Chukwuma Soludo government’s second-term Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) met for the first time at Light House, Awka, and made several significant decisions.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Council set out two specific objectives for the second term’s ANSEC Retreat.
ANSEC moves to establish team cohesion so that the state’s executive council will function as a team rather than merely as individuals and to align all members with their responsibilities so that they know exactly what is expected of them individually and collectively. The retreat will be held in the state this week.
The Council once again noted that cash collection for tax payment remains prohibited in the state and that defaulters will henceforth face harsh penalties. This followed a report that cash collection for tax payment was still occurring in some areas of the state.
At the meeting, the West African College of Nurses and the African University of Science and Technology conferred awards on Governor Soludo for stellar performance.
The College of Nurses commended Prof. Soludo for being the governor who employed the highest number of nurses (over 1,350) in Nigeria and for being one of the few states in the country that pay the current salary scale for nurses; and the African University for Governor Soludo’s dedication to the Anambra state’s acquisition of digital skills (more than 260,000 so far) and for designating the former Government House as a tech hub and innovation district.
