Anambra APC Chairman ‘Osegbo’ Pledges Unity, Transparency After Court Victory

Newly reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Osegbo, has pledged to unite party members, strengthen internal democracy and build a formidable political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a reception held in his honour following a court judgment restoring his mandate as state chairman, Osegbo said his administration would be guided by fairness, accountability, transparency and strict adherence to the party’s constitution.

He acknowledged the country’s current economic challenges and appealed to Nigerians to remain patient, expressing confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s administration was making efforts to improve the situation.

Describing leadership as a sacred responsibility, Osegbo said his office would prioritise service over personal privilege, promising equal treatment for all party members.

He assured members that internal democracy, due process, justice and equity would remain the guiding principles of his leadership while addressing grievances arising from the party’s congresses and recent primaries.

Osegbo said reconciliation would be a major focus of his administration, stressing that lasting political success could only be achieved through unity and inclusiveness.

He also promised greater transparency in party finances through regular financial reports and quarterly audit records to the State Executive Committee.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, the APC chairman assured party aspirants of stronger institutional support, saying candidates would no longer be abandoned after emerging from the primaries.

According to him, the administration’s priorities include party unity, grassroots mobilisation, youth and women inclusion, political education, transparent administration, conflict resolution and strategic election planning.

To achieve these objectives, Osegbo announced plans to establish a Truth and Reconciliation Committee, a Strategic and Technical Committee, and an Election Planning and Winning Committee.

He further pledged to expand opportunities for young people and women in the party, describing youths as critical stakeholders whose energy and creativity would help reposition the APC in Anambra State.

Calling for collective sacrifice, Osegbo urged members to place the party’s interest above personal ambitions in order to build a stronger and more united APC.

Earlier, the party’s State Treasurer, Arinze Nwogu, described the court judgment as the restoration of the mandate freely given to Osegbo during the state congress, saying it had returned the party to constitutional order.

State Secretary, Chidi Orji, appealed for reconciliation among members, insisting there should be “no victor, no vanquished” after the leadership dispute, while the APC Youth Leader, Jideofor Ejimofor, reaffirmed the support of the party’s youth wing for Osegbo’s leadership and expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections.
