England captain Harry Kane has won the European Golden Shoe for the 2025/26 season after finishing as the top league goalscorer in Europe.
The Bayern Munich striker scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga, matching his tally from the 2023/24 campaign when he first claimed the award. He finished well clear of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (27 goals) and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé (25).
Bayern confirmed the honour on Monday, noting Kane will receive the trophy at a ceremony in the club’s museum at the Allianz Arena on August 19. The 32-year-old becomes only the third Bayern player to win the Golden Shoe after Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski, and joins a select group of multiple winners that includes Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kane netted 61 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions for the German champions, who secured a second consecutive Bundesliga title and the DFB Cup. He also scored 12 times for England during the season.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kane helped England achieve their best finish at a men’s tournament staged outside Europe. He became the national team’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer, surpassing Gary Lineker, and moved into joint fifth on the all-time FIFA World Cup scoring list.
The Golden Shoe, awarded by European Sports Media, recognises the leading scorer across Europe’s top domestic leagues, with goals in the major competitions weighted by a factor of two.
