Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised Karim Adeyemi after the German forward impressed in the club’s 7-2 victory over Racing Santander, saying the player still has room to grow as he adapts to the team’s style.
Adeyemi featured in another dominant display as Flick’s side extended their perfect start to the season with a seventh consecutive competitive win at Spotify Camp Nou. Official club records confirmed the result gave Barcelona their best-ever start to a campaign.
Flick said Adeyemi is still adjusting to Barcelona’s demands but is already making a valuable contribution.
“He can improve and still needs to fully adapt to our way of playing, but he gives us a lot, as we saw today. I’m happy for him and I like what I see,” Flick said.
The coach also highlighted the 24-year-old’s character and attacking qualities.
“He’s a fun player and a good guy who gives everything on the pitch. His pace is incredible,” Flick added.
Adeyemi scored in Barcelona’s earlier 4-2 win over Levante and played a role in the emphatic victory against Racing Santander.
Flick warned that the next match against Sevilla on Saturday would present a tougher test despite the team’s strong opening run.
